Puddles posted:From the Vancouver police, they made Through a Blue Lens (2, 3, 4, 5, 6.) which is my favourite of the two. It can be alittle at times, things like open sores on drug addicts etc. Is it Randy in this one? His name sounds like Randy I think... the RCMP came to our school to show us this documentary, and one of the guys who was in it came with them to speak to us and answer questions after. He was pretty much a completely Awesome Dude, and I remember all of us were pretty into the documentary. I second the recommendation for this one at least. It's done by cops who work in the DTES and see these people all the time.

Petah posted:Real story about an off duty pilot who attempts to land a passenger jet in an impossible scenario. Quite possibly the most gripping story I've ever witnessed in my entire life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been looking for this ever since I first saw it. I remember watching until the footage of the crash, and suddenly realizing "holy gently caress, I KNOW about this crash" and then it all sunk in, this guy saved so many people. THIS guy saved so many people. That was loving insane. Any more docs by the guy who did this one would be greatly appreciated.

Found this in the Bizarre mysteries thread, don't think it was posted here. Someone's uploaded that documentary about the Swedish twins who ran into the motorway to Youtube and internationals can watch it. This doc is absolutely 100% insane. Nothing makes sense in this case. Rated PG-34 posted:Everybody should watch Senna (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1424432/), a documentary about the F1 driver, Ayrton Senna. I've seen very few more moving films. Unfortunately, at the moment, you'd have to import the DVD from Japan (and fetch subtitles off the net for the Portuguese parts), but it will be showing in US theatres in July. I was just thinking about this after watching the previous F1 documentary posted in the thread. If you want a touching preview, you can try and get hold of the Top Gear episode that has this at the end. Lewis Hamilton gets to drive Senna's old car, and the way he reacts like a giddy little boy is just heartwarming. I didn't know much about Senna before that, but what I saw from that episode was enough to make me crave this documentary. Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_rJH9XVIQA Here we go! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ae_6lYRdu74 Metal: A Headbanger's Journey Metal: A Headbanger's Journey is a 2005 documentary directed by Sam Dunn with Scot McFadyen and Jessica Wise. The film follows 31-year-old Dunn, a Canadian anthropologist, who has been a heavy metal fan since the age of 12. Dunn sets out across the world to uncover the various opinions on heavy metal music, including its origins, culture, controversy, and the reasons it is loved by so many people. - Wikipedia I watched this in my Anthropology class and MAN is it ever good. If you've ever wanted a quirky study with good music, this is it! He interviews a lot of famous musicians as well, like Alice Cooper, Geddy Lee, etc.
