They piece their lives back together and realize that while there may be hundreds of 9/11 widows and a great deal of support and financial assistance available to each one of them - there are 2 million widows in Afghanistan who aren't getting anything from anyone, and can barely survive. So they set out to try and help the women left behind by decades of war that turned Afghanistan into a place where men could be trained to carry out something like 9/11. Pretty moving stuff.
