Since then, it is estimated that more than a billion people around the planet have seen it. Cosmos chronicles the evolution of the planet and efforts to find our place in the universe. Each of the 13 episodes focuses on a specific aspect of the nature of life, consciousness, the universe and time. Topics include the origin of life on Earth (and perhaps elsewhere), the nature of consciousness, and the birth and death of stars. The UK goons are holding out on us US goons. There are two very awesome documentary series on BBC right now: Richard Hammonds Invisible Worlds and Wonders of the Solar System (with Brian Cox). Wonders of the Solar System is described as: "Professor Brian Cox visits some of the most stunning locations on earth to describe how the laws of nature have carved natural wonders across the solar system." Invisible Worlds is about showing off cool stuff we now are able to notice thanks to modern technology. First episode of Wonders of the Solar System, about the sun: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00rf172/hd/Wonders_of_the_Solar_System_Empire_of_the_Sun/ The 2nd episode is about how the order of the solar system formed out of chaotic systems, the 3rd about atmospheres, and the 4th is on geologic activity. First episode of Invisible Worlds, about things that happen really fast (High speed video): http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00rmrln/hd/Richard_Hammonds_Invisible_Worlds_Speed_Limits/ The second episode is about non-visible light and the 3rd is about the microscopic world. If your in the US you can watch iPlayer with The Onion Router. Google it.
