This American Life (1995 - Present) This show somehow finds a way to make the most mundane facets of American life incredibly fascinating. It's a show about "what it's like" for people living their lives covering an impossibly wide amount of subjects. The radio show is great, but the Showtime series is fantastic as well. As the program airs on NPR there is an in depth archive to listen to but the Showtime episodes are a bit harder to find.
