I'm not saying that the GSL is unreasonable, especially in the context of copyright issues in the pre WoTC days... But leaving the OGL for the GSL is like getting married to that hot chick that already used to give up the goods everyday.  My take is that it doesn't really seem like it would enrich the setting to me. It doesn't sound like there's enough there to support an interesting adventure. If you can convey the culture pretty well in one sentence, what is the DM going to do with it? If it's a culture that's basically like a real culture, the DM has nothing to go by but stereotypes. Who is going to read about whoever the Gypsies are and have them be anything but stereotypical Gypsies?
