They used to call me tricky-kid, I lived the life they wish they did.

I went to Sun N Fun at Lakeland, FL yesterday. Been to plenty of air shows but this was my first actual fly-in (I drove).

Absolute blast. Got to climb inside a c-47, and the pilot was telling me how they are participating in a charity/documentary called Currahee to Normandy.

They took most of the actors from Band of Brothers and spent a week certifying them to jump out of the plane. Now in June they're taking them to Normandy to jump again, and retrace Easy Company's route. They'll meet with survivors, etc.

Thunderbirds put on an amazing show as always. My girlfriend was almost literally blown away. I love how playful they are. Distracting you with 4 passing over, then the 5th one makes some noise over at the other end of the field to grab your attention, just in time for the 6th to do an afterburner pass out of nowhere.

F-35 was neat but I'd seen them a few times when I lived near Hill AFB in Salt Lake.

Also saw Polaris' Ghost Squadron and their MiG-21. I have some photos but mobile doesn't let you just paste photos in anymore. Felt like an Ace Combat game seeing it parked near two Super Hornets and three F-35s.

Lmfao yeah. As soon as someone starts poo poo at the front of the airplane they're getting dogpiled by the entire rest of passenger cabin though so it's probably not as critical as it seems at first glance. Still hilarious.

Any landing you can walk away from is indeed a good landing, but it's probably gonna be 'spensive

I don't know; you slam that hard, I'd want to stay down in case something critical shook loose, bent or cracked. Better than finding out on the next downwind leg.

There is no problem that cannot be solved through sufficient application of lasers and friendship.
So, if ground control sends an airplane down a taxiway that's too narrow, who's at fault for not knowing where the wingtips are? The pilot or the controller?

The captain is ultimately responsible for the occupants and craft.

At a major airport like that in a big jet, the flight crew should have a taxi diagram that gives them known-good taxiways and also which taxiways are too narrow. If ground tells them to proceed down a bad taxiway, they should say they're unable and request an alternative taxi routing. If that's the only possible route they should park the jet and ask for ground handlers to come out and provide extra eyes to make sure they stay clear of any obstacles. Case in point, an A380 at Toronto Pearson was directed down a taxiway their charts showed was not capable of handling the A380 so the crew got into a bit of a debate with the ground controller. Technically the pilot was misinterpreting the chart, but it's better to get yelled at for being stubborn and following procedure rather than for crunching the scenery.

There can certainly be extenuating circumstances where multiple parties are at fault, and the PIC was proceeding under bad information, but ultimate responsibility for anything that happens to the aircraft falls on the Pilot in Command (PIC) while they are operating the aircraft.
