Any of you guys remember a series of T-shirts in the 80's which featured all these different fighter jets on them in wireframe, with a black background? I REALLY want one of those.

Several months ago I went to the Experimental Aircraft Association in Osh Kosh, WI, and I took a good number of pictures, I can post some up if there is any interest.

I saw a military jet take off at work today, can any one ID it? Air Force, 4 jet engines, super high tail with horizontal stabilizers at the top, like a whale tale.

Oh and why do jets sometimes need an airstart and sometimes they don't?

Thanls but that didn';t really help me. I know WHY they use one but my question is why sometimes and why sometimes they don't. I work for Fedex, 90% of the time tey don't use airstarts. Once in a while they do and I want to know why. I am wondering if it has to do with the APU being hooked up.

Yes! This is it. It backed out of the gate using reverse (never seen anyone do this) no pushback and used like 3 feet of runway to take off. I assume it might have been empty though.

I don't get the mission here. What does the Navy want to do with a slow, short-legged, micro-helicopter with a couple hellfires on it?

Wiki thinks it has to be within line of sight? That is just weird.

Ultimate Weapons on Netflix has a good section on it.
