 I don't know if they count as airport fiction, but I just finished the Kenzie/Gennaro series by Dennis Lehane, and really enjoyed them. I saw Gone Baby Gone when it came out originally but had forgotten most of the plot other than the broad strokes.

I figuratively sprained my eyeballs when I rolled them so incredibly hard after the "genuine pigskin so gently caress you terrorist, football is sending you to hell" part in I think it was teeth of the tiger.

Also his "offscreen" killing of Robby Jackson was loving bullshit.
