SUBFRIES posted:And TC played the same night, up in Baltimore. Yeah, I went to Dubnation this past Friday night to listen to TC spin, after a friend of mine invited me to go. Though I hadn't listened to TOO much D&B before this show, I've been on a major kick since then. From an outsider's perspective, the show was insane, and I'm definitely looking forward to the next one in the DC/Baltimore area. Plus it was $2 drink night, so that only made it exponentially better.

I figure I've acquired enough dnb to do one of these for this year. So, here's my End of the Year Round-Up Friday Five. 5. Amit - Killer Driller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwTgYMu07Uk Amit went completely in with this one. The half step drums, smothering bassline, and minimal vocals put together one of my favorite tracks of 2012. 4. Culture Shock - Troglodyte https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cDsF9hXD5k What can be said about this tune that hasn't already been said? Surely one of the most popular dnb tracks of the year, and for good reason. I got to hear Andy C drop this track at U Street Music Hall in DC a few months back. The bass hit so hard that all you could do is stand there and laugh about how absurdly strong it is. 3. Jubei - Say Nothin' Ft. Flowdan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZtpskPaapk Jubei takes the lurching half-step Dub Phixiz popularized last year with "Marka" and improves the formula. The bassline crushes on a system, and Flowdan is at his best lyrically. 2. DRS - Count to Ten ft. Enei https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUfENWgIAJE This one is an absolute dance floor smasher. Enei put together a monster track, and DRS's lyrics complete the package. Absolutely menacing. 1. Stray, Sabre, & Halogenix - Oblique (ft. Frank Carter III) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzFJVBAA0Xo Going in a different direction for my last track, I have to put Oblique as my top release for 2012. Not only is this my favorite liquid track of the year, but its possibly my favorite liquid track of all time. Everything in this track is perfectly formulated, from the drums, to the piano, to the lyrics. This one never fails to make me emotional. I'm convinced that in fifteen years, when people are putting together "Back to 2012" sets, they'll include this one every time. Timeless.

I'm from stateside, but I tune into Bassdrive fairly often. My boy Ill Omen has a weekly spot on there, should be about 45 minutes deep into his set atm. Every Tuesday night, brings it strong!

NTT posted:Netsky is playing in the US for his first tour and I can't go because I'm broke > I definitely remember seeing him play in Baltimore years ago. Don't worry, he'll be back again in the near future. Speaking of first US tours however, Lenzman is making his North American debut tonight at Flash in Washington DC and I can't go, so if you're in DC you probably should do that tonight. EDIT: not you specifically but all DC posters

Since we're mixposting in here I figure I'll share my latest, 90 solid minutes of dnb recorded at a regional burning man event back in July of this year. https://www.mixcloud.com/styliferous/beemore-mix-transformus-2023/ quote:Tracklist Styliferous fucked around with this message at 19:55 on Dec 7, 2023 |

Since we're mixposting, I've finally got my setup mostly organized to do some low production value living room stream recording, and here's the first I've got uploaded to YT. Unfortunately, my camera splits the stream into 4gb segments when recording to microSD, so I had to slap it into a playlist instead of one smooth video. Mostly playing around with tunes I've picked up since Valentine's, so expect a lot of new music and even a few tunes from the same EPs. Tracklist included below and if you like something, hop over to Bandcamp and support the producers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bNLDl6yRT0&t=116s quote:Tracklist
