Rageaholic Monkey posted:There's a weekly DNB/jungle night at a local club, and I've been to that a couple times. The tunes spun there were a bit too repetitive for my tastes, and there was barely anyone in attendance the times I went, so I stopped going after a couple times. I assume you're talking about the Bassbin Safari weekly at the Dragon's Den. If so, shame on you for not coming out more often! I just got back from it a few hours ago, and the sets tonight were killer. If you dislike the "repetitive"(aka Aggro) Djs, just take a smoke break for a half-hour or so and a proper ragga jungle Dj will take over soon after. Also, never miss a Dj Proppabear set if you can help it, he plays some of the dirtiest ragga jungle I've ever heard in my life. Click here for the full 482x720 image.

Crap dude, I wish I saw this post earlier. Post in the thread next time you are coming to town, there is usually a good DNB party like every other weekend at the Dragon's den, not to mention DNB/Jungle night every thursday. I think you guys missed a fantastic Airtight imprint label night that sat. Upstairs was really great dubstep, downstairs was ragga jungle/liquid DJs and the place was packed full.

I also go to the bassbin safari night at the den every week, but I haven't been doing that for nearly as long. If you went to the Washed Out/Small Black show a few months ago(har har, I know) we played that.

Speaking of Dylan, all you New Orleans dudes better be coming out to the dragon's den on the 31st. Dylan starts at 1am upstairs, but there's gonna be DnB upstairs and Dubstep downstairs all night.

There was a popular breakbeat rave tune called "made in two minutes". This isn't the mix I remember but here is a version of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJr3WwPrTFk

I rarely spend less than 5 bucks on a record, unless its a reggae 45 or something. Just spent 50 bucks on three new singles from bleep but it will be totally worth it when they get here Also getting paid gigs help pad out the cost of records. The reason that there is no other thread for it is because it loving sucks. Just make a thread for bad music and we can keep your posts there. Here's some heady creepin style Jungle to counteract the electro wobble swine: Omni Trio - Assassins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4LhLWp6C-8

PLEASE remember this. I saw MC TC Islam last night in the venue I usually play at and he was going over everyone's sets and we were all having a grand time. Then some DJ none of us recognized hopped on stage and started playing some of the most atrociously cheesy Jump-up I have ever heard. It cleared the room, I don't even think TC stuck around for that guy's set. I'm glad the only Jump-up producer of note who comes to New Orleans is Danny the Wildchild. Play some loving jungle you cheesy fucks.

Rageaholic Monkey posted:I wish there were more D&B gigs like that anywhere remotely near me I've yelled at you for not coming to parties in town before....but seriously come to some loving parties. We may not get lineups like that but there is plenty of decent DNB to be had.

Rageaholic Monkey posted:Haha, I've been to D&B night at the Dragon's Den a few times, but every time I've been, it's been more darkstep type stuff. While I dig that in small doses, I can't stay there very long if that's all they play. Yeah I used to go to that party every week when all they would play is true ragga jungle. Then my friend Spamm Kid stopped booking the night, and the club handed it to "DJ RESIN". DJ RESIN is one of the worst Djs I've ever heard. He plays what he calls "Jump-up Wobble" and it is loving poison to a dancefloor. Now every month or so Spamm Kid will book the night, and me, J.Dub, Proppa Bear, Greenleaf, or some other true junglist will play. Also sometimes they book the decent DNB/jungle acts on Sat. instead of Thursday, so that RESIN can't ruin the night. But anyway, the best way to find DNB parties is to friend all the local DNB/Jugle dudes on Facebook. They post about their gigs all over town incessantly. If you want links to some personal pages just hit me up on facebook or soundcloud or something. EDIT: Also if you see the "Below C Level" crew logo on a party, there will probably be some awesome jungle played there. Maguro fucked around with this message at 06:32 on Nov 7, 2012 |

If you like house music there is this club in Oahu called asylum that throws pretty decent parties. There are also some cool clubs in china town but I forget the names. But no you won't find any drum and bass.
