October 26. That month is going to be such a drain on my wallet. And September. And November. And hopefully December!

The Blu-Rays are all incredibly excellent, but really, you can't go wrong with The Seventh Seal (well, you can, if you try to shove it up your butt or something). Revanche is also really good, one of my favorite films from 2008. The Red Shoes, Playtime, 8 1/2, Days Of Heaven, Wings Of Desire, absolutely all A+ stuff. It's definitely horizontally stretched (SQUISH), and the grain has that blimpy look that you see in Blu-Rays that are simply releases of previous high-def DVD remasterings (though that probably has more to do with the original anamorphic print), but at least it's not DNR'd to hell and back.

Every time I go on there when my boyfriend's around he always says something like "Oh my god, how can you use that?" I've gotten used to it but it really is unbelievably bad, like, 1999 Backstreet Boys Geocities Fansite bad. Mostly it's nice for large, unwatermarked screencaps, but good lord.

It does seem dim. The best, most obvious example is that the text in this screencap, which should be white. That's not to mention that the colors are washed out and way less candy-colored than they were in the theater.
