I'm finally making the jump to blu-ray. Should I rebuy Blade Runner?

It's a shame to see that the picture-in-picture stuff on The Wolfman is only on the theatrical release. I may have to buy one and rent the other.

At 25fps, an 83 minutes film would only be about three seconds shorter.

I must say though, that there are three versions of the film; the original theatrical cut that was subsequently banned, the 25th anniversary edition which is Friedkin's preferred cut and the "version you've never seen" which is the longest version and Blatty's preferred cut. Which two are on he blu-ray?

He seemed pretty excited over it on a documentary made a couple decades after the original cut, and on the same documentary he sounded like a douche when arguing with the screenwriter, or producer, can't recall which He's been on record many times arguing with Blatty over it, defending his own decision to cut the scenes that magically reappeared on the extended version and now he prefers that version?

I'm curious, has anyone seen Green Zone on DVD? Because I can't imagine that grain holding up well in standard definition. Someone at work was complaining because they'd watched the blu-ray and he thought it was a faulty disc. I had to explain to him that "Green Zone just looks like that, it's actually a flawless transfer".

doctor thodt posted:Right. However, be aware that there's a chance that it won't include the bonus DVD with all the special features. There's a lovely trend occurring among some studios right now where all/most of the special features are contained on a separate DVD, and this DVD is only limited to the first pressing of a given title. Even though The Evil Dead only came out a month ago, people are already getting copies that don't contain the DVD. I really can't figure out the logic behind this one.

Think rumble in video games, but it also moves in directions and motions synced to whats happening onscreen. Pretty much nobody has it in their home theater unless they're a millionaire but it costs probably a dollar total to throw the file on the disc. That's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

Maybe I'll give it a rental first.

The Dictator one is unbelievably awful, and being in print won't save it simply because it doesn't make sense. One way it's Chaplin with a goiter/kerchief, the other way it's Hitler puking into a hat. I see it more as Hitler with a tiny body. Just picture tiny-bodied Hitler waddling around and the cover becomes much better.
