That's kinda funny, because (I don't know if I'm alone in this) I thought the American Gangster extended cut actually did enhance the story (the ending was MUCH better), save a few scenes that were unecessary.

That is a LOT of poo poo for a single Blu-Ray. I can't wait to hear the commentary. It was one of the only things I wish the original Blu-Ray had on it.

Welp, Dark Knight is definitely one of the best, so you lucked out there.
Most of Pixar's movies are absolutely fantastic on Blu-Ray. I own Ratatouille, and it's breathtaking.

I don't own it myself, but I've heard nothing but good things about the Blade Runner Ultimate Edition blu-ray.

The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray is average at best. The scenes filmed with IMAX cameras are absolutely jaw-dropping, but everything else is rather soft and plagued by ostensible digital noise reduction and edge enhancement. It's like Gladiator in that you can really see the difference between the few great-looking shots and everything else when it transitions back and forth between them, and once you see it you can't unsee it.

Plenty of people will tell you that it looks fine to their eyes, and that's great, more power to them - I wish everything always looked perfect to me too and I never had any complaints about anything either. But it's kind of impossible to argue that this is how TDK is supposed to look. This guy explains it more succinctly than I can:

Just got my new laptop today, and I made sure it had a blu-ray drive.

This friggin laptop has 1080p HD, which my TV doesn't even have (720p).

Kick-rear end also got delivered today, so I'll be watching that on here in a few minutes, once everything is done downloading.

It's up for pre-order now but you should probably wait since there will be the inevitable slew of great deals that comes with new Pixar titles.

I am having very mixed feelings right now.

On one hand, I am ecstatic because my Se7en blu-ray just arrived here.
On the other, I am sad because my 1080p laptop is being repaired, and there isn't an HD TV in my dorm room to watch it in all of its glory.

I guess I'll just have to stick with a 420p :qq:

There's a lovely trend occurring among some studios right now where all/most of the special features are contained on a separate DVD, and this DVD is only limited to the first pressing of a given title. Even though The Evil Dead only came out a month ago, people are already getting copies that don't contain the DVD.

Oh man, that would be absolutely terrible. I hope this doesn't happen. :ohdear:

Disney is completely ignoring the existence of the original TRON until after Legacy makes them money. They showed it at one of their parks, and people were laughing at it. So they're afraid that it will make people not want to see the new movie.

I got the Alien Anthology and the Avatar: Collector's Edition from my Grandma, and Twilight Zone Season 1 from my girlfriend for Christmas. I can't wait to watch them tomorrow.

Can someone explain to me the hate for slipcovers? Is it because they kinda bend too easily unless you try to not be a barbarian and actually put them away/take them out softly?

Or is there some other :spergin:

reason I'm missing? Because honestly, slip covers are some of my favorite things. They add a nice flash to most blu-rays, or more of an overall sleekness.
