These are the many many reasons why I'm glad I'm regaled to the Larkin school, off primary campus, and in, I'm guessing, effectively, the highest ranking class on post. Out of the 16 in my class, I have 1 Specialist, 1 AF Master Sergeant, and 13 O-3+. And, the specialist is in the middle of having his PhD Thesis approved.  Hell, I mean...I'm an anime geek and all but some of the poo poo I see these kids doing out in town would make Man-Fey embarrassed.

In fact, we had an Army Captain bumped for failing three tests in a row, and he lost his next gig, so we're not all exempt. Though....I'm not so sure about authoritarian culture aspect. The German instructors certainly don't hide their discontent when we gently caress stuff up. Though, in regards to our MLI, we've seen him maybe once in the last 4 months. He doesn't even come close to our class, anymore. In fact, whenever unfair or retarded poo poo comes down, our AF Master Sergeant doesn't hesitate to go down and brow beat him. Nope....they're pretty open about it, actually. We have running jokes with the instructors about kicking the crap out of or stealing stuff from the French students. And, whenever we're successful in such endeavors, we declare we have "found our Belgium!". Though, early on some were making "Studieren Macht Frei" jokes, including an idea of making a huge sign and posting it above the "TO LARKIN" sign down the wooden walkway to the school but those didn't last very long. Two of our instructors are over 70 years old and were born during and grew up in post WWII Germany. They always have interesting stories.

It was definitely a learning experience, and certainly changed my perspective on how I viewed the mundane inter-rate bullshit that happens on ships. When I reported to my second ship, I could never understand the animosity between the OS's, BM's, GM's, and STG's, because on sweeps, there's nothing but MN's and they do all of those jobs. It's pretty amazing. Though......the trade of with having an all male ship of 90 guys is....well, you get all the crap with having an all male ship of 90 guys. I evoke the surface fleet version of Rule 34 in regards to that.

All male is ALL MALE with a wardroom made up of 8 guys. I mean....one of our "induction requirements" was having our lone SAR swimmer trick you to look at his dick. Hell, our 1stLT on more than one occasion would just waltz into the Admin Office (if it could be called one), and just whip his dick out while shootin' the poo poo with our YN. Oh, and it definitely made the Shellback Ceremony a little more....uhh...interesting.
