I've been using a Fuji Z800 EXR for around a year now that I bought for near nothing and I find it kind of lacking in terms of image quality. It might be because I'm not using it properly, since I'm a total photography newbie, but I'm usually not fully satisfied with the photos. Lightroom tends to help drastically, though I'm sure I could do better from the camera itself.

What would be a relatively cheap step up from it? Or should I stick with the camera and learn how to use it well?

Yeah, I should learn exposure and how to use lighting properly overall. I'll stick with it for now.
