Check urban outfitters and take a barcode sheet with you. I found one that had the gen 1 mini figs 2 weeks ago, although they are over pricing them as $5, but compare that to the shipping you would need to pay on bricklink. If you want 1-2 figures, the $5 would probably be cheaper.

Went to my Toys'R'Us they had just put out a new box, had 2 older ones out too. The older ones had been picked clean of spartans, but I pulled 3 out of the new, and a pharaoh, mexican, and vampire. Gave 1 spartan to another collector who came a few minutes after me looking for a cop and spartan to complete a set. Target had the box out for the figs, but didn't have them yet, they did have a pimp atlantis mini set of like a scuba mini camera thing.

Ha, went to another Toys'R'Us today because I was in the area and felt like checking it. No mini figs, but they had just gotten 2 sliver stormtroopers in the mail they had behind the counter. Decent surprise score.

Only one of my targets had them in stock, but all of them had a box with the tag 1.99 minifig. I just look for that.

The more I look at that mummy, the more I want someone to point out to LEGO that there really arn't any red scorpions. I thought it was a lobster.

Hottentotta is more of brown and red. Sometimes yellow. You can ask the one behind me if you want, although he is most likely to sting you. Besides, H. hottentotta and H. trilineaus are the only ones really known. Kind of surprised you didn't say R. junceus, but they got a good bit of other colours, and only look like the crazy pics after molting. Red spiders I understand as there are some that are decent enough.

AstroZamboni posted:Okay... you know more about this than I do. I plan on being a medical entomologist for a living, just need to finish undergrad, and I've got things far, far worse than the hottentotta (androctonus and tityus) I started putting LEGO sets in my spider cages because it is adorable to watch a large spider walk over the toy story jeep and sit in the back. The Spartans might go into a scorpion tank I have in my bedroom, or maybe some knights. It is funny that I've had several conversations online and off about using LEGO pieces to make dioramas in tanks.

I'm still very much learning about bugs, but if you have any questions, go to the megathread in PI. Because of the talk, I sat down to build a sand miner for a desert scorpion cage. I may have overshot the size I can fit in a cage. I dub it "Carnegie's Wonder Miner" The topmost level has a survey droid, the main crane, the ship owner and his....friend, most of the crew and guards, and some dredging gear in the back. In the middle are the two drivers, and the rest/storage room in the back. On the bottom are the main worker droids, as being that close to the sand can be far to dangerous for a human worker. (crappy) top shot The drivers Side shot, with the crane down carrying a rock Back shot, with specialist diver in resting room, and some dredging gear down Other side, view of worker droids I don't like the legs, but I really don't have many LEGO pieces to work with.

Honestly, Bricklink prices arn't horrible. The thing I noticed was people trying to sell the Spartan as just a fig for $5-6, but you can get it with all the accessories for $2.50-3

Mostly atlantis and city themes, but also what's presumably the remain stock of their mini X-wing and attack shuttle sets from last Easter. Worth a look if you missed them. Mine also had a little toy story jeep army guy, which is awesome. Toys 'R Us had a little star wars mini speeder stormtrooper baggie.

I thought about going to the LEGO store near me for the coupon they were running, but I'm only really interested in the medieval calendar, and even then, meh. If I though they had the new explorers I would have gone. I did end up at Toys 'R Us at 11pm, just for the sake of seeing the craziness. It was a madhouse, and I really, really hope those employees were getting more than just overtime.

Hit up Toys R' Us and got the last Angler attack and scarab set they had. Loving the little scarab. Used the 50% off to get that seabed scavenger (I think that's the name) as a Christmas gift for my gf's little sister who likes legos.

So Toys 'R us has the series 3 minifigs for sale on their website. but, for $4? gently caress that. I might use the buy 1, get one 50% off coupon for 2 though, if I can find them.

I wish I had the cash to get that many minifigs. But I'd only do it with the sea creature people from the atlantis line. Then make a city of crab people.

Take your time and you can feel out any series 4 minifig. I've bought over 20 now, and not gotten a single one wrong, and felt every single minifig. Hard ones are those with hairpieces, but each has a distinguishing feature. Wolfman has the bone, soccer player has a trophy, sailor has a telescope, etc. I went to Toys'R'Us and found what I thought were 3 almost untouched boxes. Only managed to find 3 haz-mat and 2 gnomes, but now I finally have my 3 musketeers. Out of the 6 total haz-mat I managed to get, I'm only keeping 3; the rest are gifts.

How often do BOGOs come up for Toys R Us that include Star Wars? Waiting to get my next paycheck to blow on legos, and am kind of interested in the Hoth Base set. Edit: For people really into Alien Conquest, they have a battle pack with 2 soldiers, 2 aliens and a businessman. I'd prefer a head crab to the businessman, but whatever. They seem decently common at LEGO stores, and if someone really wants one and can't find any I might be able to help. ZarathustraFollower fucked around with this message at 02:24 on Jul 30, 2011 |

So I got an internship this summer. Now that tuition paid, some money in savings, yada yada, I've got money for lego. The problem is, I'm not such what to get. I've been eyeing the Super Star Destroyer or the Death Star, and I like the Death Star a lot more. I would really like a BOGO at Toys R Us, and hopefully find one with the Death Star and either the Falcon or Imperial Shuttle, but since they don't sell the Death Star online, that might be a pipe dream. The Super Star Destroyer looks sweet, but man, the piece count is so much lower than the Death Star, and it has less minifigs. If I get the Death Star, than the Christmas mini ships would be a great addition too. Goons, tell me what I should do.
