Keith and the Girl - http://www.keithandthegirl.com

This is my favorite podcast and really the only one I regularly listen to. It's stand up comedian Keith Malley and his ex-girlfriend podcasting from their apartment in New York City about pop culture and current events. They frequently have guests, many of whom are other comedians. Myq Kaplan from Last Comic Standing is a regular, Hannibal Burress, Doug Stanhope, Christian Finnegan, and Greg Giraldo have all been on before, some of them multiple times. They also have guests who are lesser known but still very funny. They're currently on a week-long break but have over 1,000 shows backlogged.

Anyway, its just them giving random advice to people from emails, formspring, twitter, or may very favorite: Yahoo answers. You can find it at iTunes or at https://www.mbmbam.com

I listen to Adams podcast everyday at work. It's pretty good and the cast is cool. I would recommend it if you like Adam's type of comedy. He's not bad at interviews but does tend to go offtrack. He has had some pretty good celebrities come on, he also has Drew on from time to time. I had no clue the other comedians had podcast, I listen to XM comedy all the time and of course I stream Loveline and Adam's podcast. Not bad entertainment for free when you deliver pizza.

Everyone should check out the Marc Maron's WTF Podcast - The Carlos Mencia Episodes. It's as close as Mencia has come to admitting he's a joke thief. The first shocking thing we learn is that he literally bought a joke book on the way to his first gig. It's an intelligent, slow, interesting reveal that shakes Carlos up pretty badly. Makes for great listening.

Jon Hamm and Jimmy Pardo. Just great chemistry between the three of them. Hamm (of Mad Men fame) really knows comedy.
Adam Carolla and Patton Oswalt. Again, the chemistry is awesome, and this is about the best environment I've seen Carolla in outside of Loveline.
Andy Kindler and Marc Maron. If you don't like Kindler, :frogout:
Paul F. Tompkins and Sean Cullen. Both amazing comedians, both get along great and both sing together at some point. Special.

I would also like to add TJ Miller, Natasha Leggero and Dan Gabriel recorded at UC Irvine. The discussion about How to Train Your Dragon (aka How I Met Your Dragon) is hilarious.

I didn't like it at first either, but listening to them more and more they definitely grew on me. Any of the characters by James Adomian or Paul F. Tompkins is just gold. They usually say who does the characters at the beginning of the show or in the itunes description.

I listen to this all the time, but if you live outside of America like me, it's pretty frustrating at how ignorant Keith and Chemda can be sometimes. It has some really good guests though, so those are always good shows. Unfortunately Chemda has slowly started grating on my nerves to the point where i don't want to hear her anymore. Which is a problem when she is half the show.

I listened to one Comedy Death Ray podcast. It was Brian Posehn, and some guy playing a disgusting Food Critic Character. It was funny, but it seemed unnatural, or at least inorganic which is really the only format I like these podcasts in. Something about it turned me off and I haven't gone back since.

Its just weird hearing Doug sing the praises of Comedy Death Ray when the styles of the two podcasts are so completely different.

Well, for one, both are very funny, so I'm sure Doug can appreciate that, and secondly, DLM is the opener for the live version of Comedy Death Ray at the UCB Theatre, so they're all good pals.

Some of the CDR characters are pretty dumb, but i've heard a few that I really like. Whoever plays Adam Scott's ex-step father is HILARIOUS, especially when he just starts listing funny things, like illnesses he has (The Lucy Liu Flu), or his list of unlicenses therapists he's seen (Susan Infantdeathsyndrome).

Also, Cake Boss makes me laugh a lot.

It's cool that you don't like them though. I've had to realize slowly that comedy is subjective. By keeping this mindset, even though I may not find a certain thing funny, I've learned to understand why people find it hilarious. An example would be; I HAAAAAATE Tim and Eric. I just find almost nothing about them funny. I can see why people do though. Sometimes a dude jumping out of a dumpster yelling "SPAGET!" is hilarious to some. Who am I to look down on you for it just because I think it's dumb and not innovative at all. I get why it's supposed to be funny, it's just not for me. Ok, rant over. Back to your regularly scheduled thread. :)

where to begin.
Fun Shoe
Pretty much all the podcasts I listen to are already mentioned (Jordan, Jesse, Go, The Best Show on WFMU, You Look Nice Today, Doug Loves Movies, plus Comedy and Everything Else and WTF sometimes). A couple I haven't seen mentioned:

Stop Podcasting Yourself: A couple of Vancouver-based comedians who usually have a guest on and talk about their lives. Really funny, and recommended if you like JJGo and YLNT or other similar shows. This one and The Best Show are the two I listen to first whenever a new episode is released.

Grandma's Virginity: I just started listening to this a couple of episodes ago, and they're only on #12 so it's still early. Also 3 people sitting around talking, but I find it really funny. There are characters occasionally, which I liked (for reference, I didn't really care for the episodes of CDR I heard but love Wurster's characters on The Best Show)

It's pretty hard to describe podcasts you like, isn't it? Hopefully some people will check these out, though, because they're both pretty great.

Yeah, I guess the best way is to do it the way you did, but comparing to others. There does seem to be a pretty general couple of "types" of podcasts: people sitting around and talking vs. produced/written "bits" or characters. Some shows like CDR combine them.

Oh hey, podcasts, and specifically, COMEDY podcasts are the bread and butter of my listening week. I listen to all the regulars, yeah:

-Comedy Death Ray Radio (I have listened to most episodes AT LEAST twice. I love it so much.)
-Superego
-Pod F. Tompkast
-Doug Loves Movies
-Nerdist
-WTF with Marc Maron
-Ricky Gervais

I was also super psyched to hear some of the lesser known ones get some love, like Frank and Erik Internet Famous (been listening since Episode 7, unbelievable), My Brother, My Brother, And Me, and The Complete Guide to Everything*.

I also just discovered Lou Reads the Internet For You THIS WEEK. It's spectacular! Weekend Web in audio form.

One I'd suggest is Flat 29's Big Book of Everything. 3 British guys have a topic each week, they talk free-form about it, interspersed with regular segments, like original songs, a weekly challenge, and a quiz. Fun stuff.

Also, has anyone listened to Sklarbro Country? The first episode is ready on my iPod. I like the Sklars, I loved "Cheap Seats", but I truthfully have no interest in sports. Will I enjoy it nontheless?
