Jumping in with the Bob Ducca love. I'm glad they waited it out and let the character rest for a while. By the end of the summer Bob was starting to wear out his welcome JUST A LITTLE BIT, but his list was amazing. They never fail to make me lose it, which is only amplified by hearing the other people in the studio trying not to crack up. It's like the only thing that seems to consistently crack Scott up.

This weeks "My Brother, My Brother and Me" should definitely be listened to. Warrior Cat Bramblepelt.

Earwolf is launching two new podcasts this week, "Who Charted" with Howard Kremer (Dragon Boy Suede) and Kulap (Scott's wife) which is apparently a humorous take on pop culture charts.

"Glitter in the Garbage with Drew Droege" is some sort of mashup of improvisational sketches, stories from Drew's life, and character pieces.

On top of that, there's going to be a semi-regular podcast called "How Did This Get Made?" with Paul Scheer, where every podcast he takes on something from movies, music, TV, etc., and asks - How did this get made?

Yeah guys - That's a new Earwolf podcast Mon-Fri. Holy poop I'm excited.

Jay and Silent Bob Get Old, Tell-em Steve-Dave, Highlands, and Hollywood Babble-On. I was mistaken. I forgot Daves Of Thunder (Who listens to this?!) was an Adam Corolla one, not a Smodcast one.

EDIT: Maybe Tell'em Steve-Dave is very funny, but I CANNOT listen to it, because Walt Flanagan is responsible for some of the worst drawn Batman comics in history (Along with Kevin Smith, who is responsible for some of the worst written). NERD PROBLEMS.

A PRIZED MULE, I know you and the dudes are cool with the belching, but they just lost a subscriber. I bet there's a ton of others who feel the same way. I've definitely stopped recommending it especially after the last episode.

There's one thing about free podcasts that I have a bit of a problem with and it's mostly not listening to feedback or doing the opposite of what the negative feedback is telling you. The Pod F.Tompkast is guilty of this too. I'm willing to bet top dollar that PFT had tons of feedback saying the Jen Kirkman calls are cool, but can we get someone else? Nope, just her! I INTENDED FOR THIS SO DEAL IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!

It's a weird conundrum; I love most of the material that this particular person or people are giving me for free, but there's a portion of the program that is turning me off because, even after tolerating it for x amount of episodes, it keeps popping up.

At least with the Tompkast, get "extrasodes" now in between, but it really doesn't make up much for basically listening to the same episode every month. Similarly with the belching. It was funny when it started a little, but with all the negative feedback, one would assume they would restrain from doing it, not the opposite.

/rant

I've liked all the Jen Kirkman calls. :3:

Oh, and count another person who totally thinks Podcast Eating Contest is funny, but can't listen because of the burps.

I only know of Happy Days, Mork & Mindy etc. from clips and maybe one or two episodes seen as a young kid (I'm 29), but all the jokes were hilarious nonetheless. One of the most intricately weird backstories for a Would You Rather in a while.

Oh man....You need to immediately go listen to PFT and Scharpling deconstruct the "Gathering of the Juggalos" ad. It is going to be one of the funniest things you ever hear. The episode from July 21st, 2009. Go listen, now.

Just skip the first 10-20 minutes. I usually can't make it through the intros.

My other big problem with Maron is his choice in guests. I like that he goes so in depth in his interviews, and doesn't shy away from any topics. But his guests are all the same! They're all his buddies from the comedy scene 15-20 years ago. They all tell the same stories about comedy clubs. Talk to some writers or... anybody else really. Regular people, whatever. He's a good interviewer, but all the interviewees sound the same.

Really? Recently he's been branching out a lot, I felt. Getting people he didn't really know and were more at the fringes of the comedy scene: Rollins, Gallagher, Tobolowski, Smith.

But, whatever, I admit it - I'm a Maron apologist. I love all of WTF, even the complaining in the beginning. It's so interesting getting a peek into his mind and psyche.

I don't hate Maron, I just think his podcast monologues are terrible and unfunny. His interviews are decent and he has some great guests, so I'll continue listening.

It was just getting annoying because people had been complaining about that same thing for a good two pages.

Speaking of people we're not sure are funny or not: Is anyone still listening to "Glitter in the Garbage". I had like, 6, episodes built up. I listened to episode 5 today and although I laughed, I'm still not sure why I subscribe to the show...My favorite parts of the show are Droege's monologues and his talks with the guests at the end. But, my god, the improv sketches or SOOO hit or miss. I don't know if they do any editing on them, but they're in desperate need of it. There's some legitimately funny stuff in there, but it needs to be done "Superego" style, with only the best lines and moments getting in. Though on episode 5, there was a really funny sketch about a "Scary Sounds" cassette tape. It reminded me of Superego, in the best way. BTW, can you tell I'm excited for the return of Superego? MARCH 1ST, MARK YOUR FUCKIN' CALENDARS, Y'ALL!

Also, Mike Detective is such an enjoyable little nugget of comedy. The five or so minutes I spend listening to it a week is so fun.

I might be odd here, but I don't really listen to comedy podcasts expecting to laugh. I don't even really care that much about the general industry of standup and writing jokes. But out of all of the guests and hosts that are out there in many different subjects, these are folks who are able to carry on a conversation, speak into a microphone properly, and connect with an audience either real or imagined. And that's entertaining, and enjoyable to listen to while you're running errands or doing something boring.
