Cast No Engine posted:I dunno how you feel about Bret Easton Ellis, but I enjoy his show (I love his voice, and his books, but he's pretty pretentious). Bret Easton Ellis podcast is unintentionally hilarious. He is so incredibly pretentious but even when I don't agree with his views, I love hearing him talk. Fun game: see how long it takes for his guest to speak. Or how soon Ellis says "haters" or mentions his 22 year old boyfriend, which he does in every ep. As for the original question, the audio version of the Desus vs Mero podcast comes out on Tuesdays. Required listening IMO. Two sneaky smart dudes from The Bronx who will drop Thomas Kincaid references while talking about going knuckle deep into Kim Kardashian's butt. Lou, your latest episode had me guffawing way too many times to count. But it also had me going "awwwww" when you read that porn fan's comment defending Ariella that said "I don't see perfection when I look in the mirror so I don't expect it in the movies I watch. She looks fantastic." I hope you make a return to those forums.

Wraith of J.O.I. posted:I go to the site to check it out, scroll down and see that the previous episode was with Jerry Ferrara! Just started listening to Scott's now. I hope they get in to Talkin' About Turtle. Turtle started his own podcast last month. And in the episode with the dude who played E, they slyly mention (without naming it) that they're aware of my personal favorite Twitter account, @Assistant2Ellin... which I think is a Jake Fogelnest creation. You around to deny it, Jake?

The Fogelnest Files hosted by SA poster Jakey "Foges" Fogelnest is kind of like Everything is Terrible: The Podcast. It's based on a live show, so the video episodes on YouTube are a lot better than the pure audio ones.

Punch Card posted:It's a pretty awesome episode too. PFT, Seth Morris, and Brian Huskey all kill it. I wish the DAP people would do more checking on how the audio will end up before they begin recording, that's pretty much the only thing I don't love about some of the episodes. Yeah what's up with that? You'd think that recording at the UCB, which has people record live PYHT and Doug Loves Movies every week, that they'd have access to someone who knows what they're doing. Even if it's away from the UCB, PFT should be able to get 826LA to pay one of the Earwolf Codys to work the show.

Highly recommend the newish Pauly Shore’s Interested podcast. It’s surprisingly mature and I think his living arrangement plays a part. Pauly is currently staying with his mom Mitzi to take care of her while she suffers from Parkinson’s. There’s two guests on each episode, with one of the guests commentating on the main interview. Episode #1 came out the week Robin Williams killed himself. He interviews Robin’s best friend Rick Overton. Overton mentions how Robin’s text messages got shorter and shorter in his final month. Episode #3 has Pauly interviewing an inebriated Andy Dick with his son Lucas Dick, also a comedian, giving his thoughts on his dad’s long history of drug problems. This one is realllllly dark. Pauly casually mentions to Lucas if he ever heard his dad’s story about getting tag-teamed by two dudes. Episode #5 Pauly interviews his dad Sammy Shore, the founder of the Comedy Store, and his old writing partner. Pauly casually asks his dad about getting pussy on the road while a married man. Future eps have Chris Rock, Marc Maron, and Grover Norquist.

Beeez posted:So had he ever heard that story? No but he wasn't all that surprised for it. He was really well-adjusted and honest and happy for someone who had to grow up with a screw-up for a dad. It's actually pretty touching. Andy's part of the interview is much sadder though. That afternoon he got in an argument with the friend he was staying at and went to the Comedy Store to try and find a place to crash. Pauly says he would've let him but he was super drunk and coked out and couldn't take him home to mom. Lucas adds that having his dad over to stay usually just ends up with Andy yelling and moaning until 8AM.

The podcast app is hella wonky. Might have something to do with latest ios update. I'd just delete it and reinstall to see if it fixes anything. Take a screenshot beforehand or whatever to save your subscriptions in case it decides to forget them when you download it again.

Finally heard the Bob Zmuda episode of the Greg Fitzsimmons Podcast. It didn't come off as fake at all. Maybe Bob himself faked the outrage or planned to walk out if something rude was said, but it definitely wasn't in cahoots with Greg. Bob just seems like a sad old man. He reminds me of a more extreme version of Ray Manzarek, where a talented, creative person's more talented & creative partner dies and they spend the rest of their life keeping their career afloat by giving interviews and revealing new secrets and hinting that Jim/Andy might be alive.

Beeez posted:Did Ray Manzarek do the latter? I know he'd appear wherever he could talking about what "Jim" would do over and over, but did he also allude to some conspiracy? I didn't think he was that desperate for attention. He wrote a novel about Jim faking his death and sending letters to his bandmate "Roy." It feels kinda skeezy to do something like that about a friend who died, but at least he didn't have to do it for money, because of royalties and The Doors still continuing to tour. But Zmuda is clearly playing up the "Is Andy dead?" thing to help sell his latest book about Andy.

Does anybody remember what episode of YMIW this is? Pete asks what's the hardest you've ever laughed and the guest talks about seeing Kingdom of Heaven with his brother alone in a theater with one other person. The movie begins with a sweeping epic shot of Jerusalem and when the music cuts, the other guy loudly says BAGHDAD. Pretty sure it was in 2012.

I think I felt like it was getting too serious and lame every ep and was missing the jokes it had early on. Have I missed anything good recently? Not really. Mohr is his same old obnoxious self so the show's only as good as its guests and 2015 has been pretty weak.

It's not like it was just an open secret only known to comics until Hannibal Burress told a joke. He wasn't charged but there was a major civil suit in 2005 and women went on the Today Show and other outlets to talk about it.

I was at the taping last night. Amir literally poured a 1/3rd of a beer shot and then slowly sipped it each time. A few weeks back, he let the Guys We hosed podcast record at his big house and they were mercilessly mean to him for what seemed like no reason but now I totally get it.

I love it. It's so good even though the constant censoring goes against the last 25 brilliant minutes of his latest special. I think I can look past it because A. It's become a running joke and B. I feel like the only reason he's fine censoring himself is because he's doing a podcast with his childhood friend.
