The Complete Guide to Everything http://tcgte.com/

If conversational rambling comedy sounds like your thing but Uhh Yeah Dude and Jordan Jesse Go leave you cold (as was the case with me) this one may just scratch your itch. Tom and Tim attempt to make Wikipedia obsolete by recording podcasts on every topic imaginable, but usually fail in a glorious, hilarious, and lovable way.

My favorite podcast of all time is You Look Nice Today but they hardly ever seem to update. Go through the archives for some good times.

I guess I just don't like people playing characters on radio/podcasts. When I listened to the Adam Carolla podcast I skipped any episode with Van Stone or that fake Republican guy. I like it when people are funny being themselves :shobon:

I agree, except for The American's appearances on The Bugle. He is hilarious.

I used to really like Carolla's podcast and lately I find myself just skipping it every day unless he has some really amazing guest -- which is very rare. I didn't make a conscious effort to stop, he's just boring. It's the same thing every day.

Same here. He's really entertaining until you listen long enough that he starts to repeat himself, and if his format is mostly him rambling without hardly letting his guests get a word in edgewise, that's inevitable.

God drat do I wish Gelman was allowed to finish his story, they're always amazing.

He's done a couple of different old-man characters with basically the same voice, such as the personal trainer from episode 74.

The thing that's starting to get to me about Comedy podcasts is that it feels like there is a limited community of comedians interested in it and you end up hearing them on every podcast.

That's why podcasts with people who aren't semi-famous like The Complete Guide to Everything are so refreshing to me. I love their impromptu style and how they talk about something different every episode. Does anyone have suggestions for podcasts similar to the Complete Guide?

I just listened to the first episode of Mike And Tom Eat Snacks (with Michael Ian Black) which seems like it could be a winner in that vein, gotta listen to a couple more. I know what you mean though, I used to listen to Jordan Jesse Go and Stop Podcasting Yourself but they just seemed like inferior versions of TCGTE.

Goddamn, was Carolla on DLM painful. Also: I just plain cannot bring myself to like Bald Bryan in any way, because although he seems like a perfectly nice guy his lovely sound drops epitomize the change in Carolla's format for me, which I couldn't stand and unsubscribed almost immediately. I used to like that podcast.

Regarding "Talking Funny": there are times when Seinfeld strikes me as stale and old-hat but you gotta love how he got by far the biggest laugh of the whole thing with his "whistle" comment. What a strong comedic personality/mind.

Yeah, I've listened to plenty of podcasts that fit the format of "two guys just talking about whatever" and TCGTE is the only one I still listen to. Because I don't listen to enough podcasts already.

have you checked out The Greatest Movie Ever podcast? You should, there's a lot of good earnest deconstruction. It's not really a humor podcast but it's a lot nicer to listen to and the hosts are super geeky but on-point and appreciative of the little things. As often as not they'll find a lot to like in weird b-movies and cult fare.
