In 1992 if you told me we will have a largely unregulated form of communication with an emphasis on audio and video and that they would still be producing edited rap music videos for this medium I would of said you're crazy. No artist would not take advantage to promote the art as it was intended..... ....and yet here we are.

I find it deeply amusing that the hip hop radio stations (DRIVE TIME COMMUTE SHUT UP) are randomly playing the songs from the album (obvious and feq: otis). Its Kid-A redux a decade later. (DO NOT start that debate. Rather I'm bringing the comparisons of "no singles")

Organic Robot posted:That Death Grip's comparison is pretty spot on for "Black Skinhead", and I am totally down with an album of angry Kanye. Listening to both songs, its pretty much going to be the pop death grips album you can ease your friends into for the real death grips.

Drake Bate posted:daft punk produced a death grips beat for kanye? Two, actually. (To be specific, we don't know what the other track is so its not safe to assume its another black skinhead) I wonder if the other one will show up on a mixtape, the album, or shelved for a future greatest-hits album.

He's going to smash first day sales, so its just him postering. "Ho-ho i'm not going to send out ANY copies", etc. Even if he does a Kid-a-not-going-to-release-a-single path, the record company will advise a single to be played.

^burtle posted:Last I heard he went back to the lab after hearing Pimp a Butterfly so seeya in 2 years. Its a good album, but I doubt he went back to hudson mohawke and said "Give me St. Pepper". Kayne has access to the same stable that Kendrick has if not better. He's an utter perfectionist so whatever he has he thinks is gold and he's just endlessly tweaking.
