wacky posted:Also, if I'm not mistaken, X-Wing and Tie Fighter had live action scenes in them randomly as well. Holy crap there needs to be more of that and I need to dig up those games. I remember a few years ago I went through and beat Jedi Knight twice.. once as a good guy and once as a bad guy. That was so awesome, although the good guy path is the only canon one I assume.

Jedi Knight was awesome because of the huge sprawling levels and puzzles that made sense. Sure the cutscenes don't look good now, but I thought they were awesome when I was 8.

The only good EU news I can think of right now (Thrawn and Wraith excepted) is they've vowed to do no more multi-author series.

Cross-Section posted:I'm sure some people in this thread will be overjoyed by this, but think about it; TFU II has been proclaimed to be a "Empire Strikes Back" of sorts plot-wise, and since the third sequel's cancellation is taking place so late in TFUII's dev cycle, it's likely we're getting a cliffhanger ending with no foreseeable resolution in the future. Ouch, my canon.

Those are just far too complicated for today's youth. How can you expect them to balance shields, engines, lasers, and beam? Besides, they'd just set it during the clone wars. No Thrawn for us.

I'm not sure exactly what they were, so maybe you guys can help and I can pick up where I left off. Luke had his Jedi Academy on Yavin 4 and there was some guy flying around in some ship that could cause stars to blow up or something along those lines. Eventually he throws the thing into a black hole while shoving himself in a canister or something? That was the last one I read, sorry if it's not specific enough.

I think I should learn about literary criticism so that I can write a 1000 page companion to the EU. Each bad author would get their own chapter (Traviss would get 3), 3-4 chapters dedicated to ripping on the fans, and whatever else I deem necessary.

I'm not sure if this just started with these books, or how long they've been doing this, but what the hell is up with putting real world versions of things into the stories? It's extremely annoying to read about Jedi Mast Kenth Hamner and his cold cup of CAFF, or watching vestara read her datapad about a TEXT MESSAGE she got. I know things like refreshers and sanisteams or whatever have been pretty common but the way they mention coffee in these books makes me picture a Star(wars)bucks on every corner.
