I guess this is the right place to ask this?

Pre-amble:
I currently have a Core i5-760 (LGA 1156) on a Micro ATX motherboard. I'm sick of my computer tower because it's ugly and it's bigger than it needs to be (17" tall) and I did not have the foresight to get a Mini-ITX motherboard. Getting a new case is turning into a frickin' system re-build now that I find out a 1156 board is hard to find new, and nothing 1155/1150 will work with my 1156 chip. Ugh.

Question:
Are the newest i5's worth getting, or is a current i3 almost equivalent to my i5-760? And if you know anything about motherboards - am I right to assume that since LGA 1156 is discontinued it's not worth attempting to find a LGA 1156 Board?

I use my system mainly for media and heavy photo-editing (i'm a photographer) so I'm not at all concerned at making this a powerhouse gaming rig or anything
