BiggerJ mostly covered this, but in UF you do find out that Luke does have his own father and still lives with him, so Layton isn't Luke's father. But other relations....?

How would that affect Luke not being his apprentice? it's not like Luke is his ward, like Dick Grayson.

I got the heart puzzle right without hints too. Went by elimination ("what sure doesn't look like a heart?") and once I had only one guy remaining I suddenly realized how it made sense.

Also yeah, I think there are more than a few missed opportunities to integrate puzzles in the plot-relevent bits, though Unwound Future mostly gets it right.

Also despite being a bit taken aback by his appearance in the first game I quickly warmed up to Don Paolo, and the third game makes him nothing short of awesome. I wish the player could help in the unmasking though, and in solving the broader mysteries, but since the games are essentially adapting a series of puzzle books I guess such a mechanic will never be present.

I always found Don Paolo to merely be a running gag in 1 and 2, and I loved that his role in the series was seriously expanded in Unwound Future. In fact, he's straight up awesome.

So now that London Life is confirmed to be in the NA version of Last Spector, I'm hoping we get some more info on what London Life is all about. I know it's an RPG, and it's about 100 hours of content, and I know that it's not about battle, but I'm dying to find out more. I'll probably dip into it after I finish the game proper anyway, but I'd love some info.

I only spent a couple of hours on it, but it's more akin to Animal Crossing than to a traditional JRPG. You walk around a tiny version on London that has the Layton characters running around, you can play minigames and do fetch quests which gives you money to do things like furnish your apartment and improve your wardrobe. It's not deep in any way but it has the silly Layton spirit and is fun for a while.

Sounds like a fun diversion when I have nothing to play. As long as it doesn't run in real time like Animal Crossing, it might be a good thing to come back to periodically.
