My buddy Rob just released the source code for Mugician, which is basically the best reason to own an iPad. https://github.com/rfielding/Mugician (the app itself is already free on the app store; it's basically a 14 string microtonal guitar synth)

It does MIDI control but it's also a wavetable synth with looper + effects. Like Mugician, it's definitely more of a performance instrument rather than sound design or sequencing. Is there anything specific that you find un-user-friendly? I'm friends with the developer and happy to relay any feedback.
