wacky posted:You didn't list TouchOSC. That, on the iPad, with Logic running on the same network is heaven. Suddenly, every softsynth can be played with like a real synth (you actual fiddle with things). I bought that today and I am still trying to configure it to work with Logic. The prospect is rather exciting though.

japtor posted:Akai announced the SynthStation49 pretty recently for iPad, while looking for that I found that they apparently also have a smaller SynthStation25 for iPhone/iPod that came out back in November. Holy. poo poo. The Synthstation 25 is only £75. For a basic MIDI keyboard I can have on my desk THAT INTEGRATES WITH MY loving PHONE, it looks like the greatest thing ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF6fPCAmaZg (lol at 3:06) Give it a few years. Logic will be ported to the iPad and we will wonder why we needed laptops for anything live.

Garageband for the iPad Software instruments, loops, multitrack recorder, can take the iPad project and use it on Garageband Mac or Logic Studio. You can plug your guitar in. You can use CoreMIDI. Do all sorts of crazy poo poo with it for $5 which is going to piss off every other DAW app creator on the app store.

excitebike posted:Cross-posting in this thread too. I've asked a few questions already but I was wondering about GB behind the scenes. How long has it been in development for? I'm surprised it hasn't come out sooner. Was the earlier hardware not capable of running it well? Also, a personal question. Do you yourself think this is the future of home recording? I really hope it takes off.

VISMAL posted:Are there any apps where I can program in shortcuts in a custom button set up for like Logic Pro or Finale hot keys. There has to be.... TouchOSC is what you are looking for (if I thinkt hat's what you are looking for). It's a bloody godsend.
