I really want to get Rain in England now. It's surprisingly on Weird Forest, who release mostly experimental rock and no other hip-hop as far as I know. Lil' Bs all over the loving map.

By the way, get the LP of Rain in England. It comes with a big fold-out poster of the cover art that is pretty incredible

The first few songs I heard were just terrible and so unappealing, and then after like 5 or 10 songs I got hooked on the variety and honesty.

Just found the "Based Codeine" mixtape on Datpiff and I'm loving this poo poo. Based freestyles chopped and screwed, this is exactly what I want.

So with Lil B having I believe well over 500 songs now, I have one question. Where does he get the beats from? I know that he does some of his own, but I'd guess most he does not. Do people just send him an endless supply of beats for free or something? A lot of the beats are not half bad at all, and I'd like to see them elsewhere.

If Lil B does produce all his own stuff, why the hell is he rapping and not producing for other people?

Also, why did he almost get 36 years and how did he get out of that?

Triple that number, if not more. I don't know if this is what he does for a fact, but there's tons of free beats available on the internet. Not to mention the stuff Young L and co produce. I've heard some of his beats used on OFWGKTA tracks before, but aside from that I can't think of anyone else that's used them.

he has over 100 myspace music pages. (He claims to have over 150, but I didn't find that many. Most of them he has numerically listed, they were done before he was putting videos on youtube, and i think he was just grabbing random instrumentals to rap over.)

quote:

most aren't by him. he finds people online, or knows people, or uses instrumentals that he just randomly finds, i assume. i was reading at the hypebeast lil b thread, and saw the dude who did the beat for "hugh hefner" on red flame came by to converse. he claimed that he sent the beat to lil b via twitter.
that might be why he now has at least 7 songs with imogen heap samples; i'm sure people keep tossing that beat idea around, because, hell, it's something i find amusing.

quote:

I heard that he got in trouble with the law many years ago, and in an old video of him in his hotel room back when he was touring with the pack, he gives a shout out to his probation officer.

but, seriously, i doubt he almost faced 36 years. Then again, he almost went to jail for like 500 things.

Where's he's on a Soulja Boy video - it looks like Soulja is trying very hard to be Lil B, and to make #Based music, but is failing miserably. Then he puts Lil B on the track and Based God just shows him how to do it without even getting 8 real bars in.

The two main producers he works with are Clams Casino and Keyboard Kid but I'm sure there's dozens more that just haven't been credited. People just email him free beats constantly and if they're any good he'll probably use them, that's what worked for me. He's very nice about it. You do have to do some twitter snooping to find his legit email though.
