That’s brilliant stuff. You should be incredibly proud of the hard work put into that.

Thank you so much, everyone. It was absolutely a labour of love and it's hard for me to see past the flaws I know are there but most people wouldn't really give a poo poo about. It's a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and cherry curd between the layers. The reason I baked a square cake and a round cake is that according to cake serving guides, it would feed 42 people and to me it just seemed like that was the only answer.

After 8 weeks forced off time due to this stupid booody flu/perennial cough & cold going about, I’ve got back on the exercise regime. Getting back up to 3k walk in 36 minutes and increased weight of bench part of my barbell routine by 10kg per rep, so now benching equivalent of my 11 year old kid for 2x12 rep sets. Yeah, happy with that. Overhead presses are still killing me so working up to 12-15kg on that. And I’ve started a core routine as well…just so I can work on the main area of issue. 43 year old who realised at a young age he could eat bacon, cake (especially that delightful slab above!) and drink beer whenever he wanted? Paying for it now. The sweat is my fat crying.

This happened earlier this week but I only found out about it this morning. My baby cousin who I helped raise as a teenager graduated; she's an audiologist now, and claimed that me and my being deaf were the reason for her going into that field in the first place We still speak from time to time though living on opposite sides of the country does mean we aren't as close as we used to be, but I'm still incredibly proud of her.

I posted about it before but I had an endoscopy and they did a bunch of stuff in there like scraping a bunch of scar tissue off my esophagus and expanding it using some medical balloon thing so it wasn't so constricted like it has been for a decade and a half. I had to start on Allegra for my allergies recently, and when I saw the pills and how big they are compared to what was basically my limit until recently, I was worried. especially since you can't split them. so I tried taking one, with people around, in case it got stuck and I choked and needed help. but nope! went down without a problem. I haven't been able to take pills this large in almost 20 years. I'm real happy, not randomly choking on stuff I swallow is great, but being able to take much larger pills than I used to is a way bigger deal to me. though they're still not like the horse pills my mom has to take for her maladies, this is still a big step up for me. quarter for scale, the white pill is what I could reasonably take without sometimes it getting caught and gagging(and even then sometimes it would anyways), and the large pinkish pill is an allegra, to show the size difference of what I can take now. more than double the size of what I could take before.

What was supposed to be an hour playdate with one friend and her kid turned into three hours that included a group dinner and the unexpected presence of a good friend who I haven't seen in a while

Got a letter from the IRS saying that I screwed up some math on my taxes, so they're sending me an extra $250
