My grandparents were abusive to my mom to the point where she ran away from home and was emancipated at 16. They were rich, so my uncle got everything handed to him on a silver platter, whereas my mom worked her way through an MBA. My family has always been relatively poor compared to his. My grandfather died a few years ago, and my grandmother is dying now. My mom has been going down to Florida for a week every other month to assist her while my uncle visits for a couple days a year, and by a couple days I mean he visits her for five minutes and then hits the beach. My uncle is getting just enough in inheritance to not completely crash and burn from his bankruptcy(he started a business on a personal loan  ), and my mom is getting enough to pay off our mortgage, my mom's best friend's(Who is in major debt due to the death of her husband) mortgage and enough to help finish sending me through college. You were a terrible person up until almost the very end, but thanks Grandma.

Take a class on pop culture history if you can. The Mexican Revolution in the Popular Imagination is probably one of the most fun and informative classes I've ever taken. We opened up the class by listening to Rage Against The Machine and it introduced me to the absolutely amazing author Carlos Fuentes.

Just found out WebOS is going totally Open Source in September. Definitely gonna turn my Pixi into a PDA, since I'll have a new phone by then. Not as good as it surviving as an OS actually used on new phones, but hey, I'll take whatever I can get after HP hosed it up hardcore.

I woke up late and my printer didn't work, but I still got to my first class in time and had enough time to print my paper in the library between class. EDIT: Also Flixster is having a thing where you get three free movies, but what you get is random. I got the first Austin Powers, Blow and Michael Clayton. Good haul. My Incredibly Evil Plantar Warts From Hell should be gone in a month or two. At one point amputation of the infected toes was considered a real possibility, so I'll take 2 months of topical creams no problem.

I'm going to be doing a Foreign Language program where I get a private tutor and do a total immersion dinner four nights a week(Can't speak in English for anything during it), and room with other people learning Chinese. It costs a grand total of $100 more a year over normal room and board.

Saw Brave Friday night, played Munchkin with friends afterwards, went home, slept, woke up, then went to see a matinee of Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter which sucked way less than I expected it to. Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter is still better though.

Played Magic: The Gathering with a bunch of friends with a deck I haven't touched in a couple years. Got out a Panoptic Mirror plus Temporal Extortion combo on turn 6. No one was running counter spells or a burn deck. Infinite turns unless someone pays half their life rounded up. Then it happens again my next normal turn. So much fun.
