Had my internet/cable transferred to my new place, and not only did the technician show up on time and complete the install in a timely manner, but I got a free powerstrip and HDMI cable out of it  Thanks dude, sorry your wife is kicking you out of the house.Also took an amazing crap a few minutes ago

Girlfriend texted me a progress update on her marathon training/weight loss, which involved minimal clothing  It also inspired me to go for a run myself, which means I've now run three of the past four days (pretty drat good for how busy I've been lately) Then I got back and ate some of the delicious chili that's been brewing in my slow cooker today.

A $300 brake job I needed on my car turned out to be less than $100. Nevermind that they said my timing belt needs to be fixed up sometime in the near future, which will run me about $850 A Fancy 400 lbs posted:I'm a History major who wants to work at a museum for a living, who lives in a small farm town with only 2 years IT for work experience, and have had no luck finding a job all summer. Opened the paper today and found an opening at a town museum two towns over looking for History majors with computer experience. I had always wondered where that line was from, and now that I've seen this...I still don't know.

I've had a really stressful week so my girlfriend decided to be more amazing than usual and come see this weekend (we alternate who drives to see who and it was supposed to be my turn this weekend). I'm so happy I'm legit tearing up a little bit, I really needed this.

Had a really lovely week at work, a couple friends talked me into going out for "one drink" which turned into five or six hours of partying including a prolonged grind session with a lovely lady. Haven't had one of those in a really long time and I'm already feeling better about this next work week.

My girlfriend's classes next Wednesday got cancelled, meaning our original plan of meeting up on the way to my parents' place Tuesday, getting a hotel and loving all night, and then finishing the drive to my parents' place on Wednesday is actually going to go through!  We haven't seen each other in a month, which is one part of why this past month has been one of the worst in my life (SUPER busy at work, which is why we haven't seen one another)

All my meetings for today got cancelled, which means I can focus on this paper I have due at 5 And I got a 95 on a term paper that I wrote start-to-finish the night before it was due (I hear this is a common theme for this particular assignment) And my semester is done after today Which means I can get back to research tomorrow

Less "today" than "this weekend", but I did more drinking and socializing this past weekend than I have in quite some time and it was almost perfect. Also at one of those events I learned that a gal who I'm crushing on has done anal before We're both seeing other people right now but if we both somehow wind up single in the future I know who I'm going after!

Made a big breakthrough in my research today, and more importantly I was able to re-produce it. Got some good ideas for what to do the rest of the week. Also I had a splitting headache when I got home from work, but I just puked my brains out and now my head doesn't hurt so much anymore Still probably going to go to bed early though.

I'm leaving grad school at the end of the semester (the week of April 30th), but because I'm on a teaching appointment instead of a research appointment I get an extra full paycheck in the first week of May  I feel a lot better knowing I'll have an extra month to figure the rest of my life out.Also I forgot to mention this yesterday, but I went out for a bit of St. Partrick's day-drinking yesterday and the bar we went to have a acoustic guitar duo that kicked rear end, including an awesome version of The Man Who Sold the World

Ran into one of my friends/co-workers who I haven't seen in a while, and she gave me a hug without me even asking E: Actually, more to the point this weekend was my grad program's recruiting weekend so I got to hang out with a bunch of my friends who I won't see again in a couple months because I'm leaving for a new job. It's sad but I got to hang out with them again and tell prospective students why I love this program so much

The university accepted my application to graduate next month and said to expect my Master's diploma in the mail sometime in August I actually haven't completed the document that's a degree requirement but I guess now is a good time to crank out that last 1/3 - 1/2 of it!

For the first time since I can remember, I sat inside and played video games all day After the past several weeks of trying to wrap up grad school and not knowing where I'm going to end up getting a job, it was nice to decompress for a day with some Age of Empires II.
