Also, I may end up doing one more update for the Ulysses Companion mod. Along with some minor bug fixes, I'll also be adding a note you can find on Ulysses' corpse if he dies while hired. Same sort of deal as Boone's letter to his wife, tech-wise. I think it adds a nice bit of closure to Ulysses' story if he ends up dying in your service. Here's the full text of the note; feel free to give me some feedback on it. I tried to capture Ulysses' manic rear end as best I could.

I really like this letter. It sounds like the nonsense he would say, but once you scrape off the embellishments, Ulysses actually has a point that makes sense.

Is there some arcane trick I'm misssing to texture replacing? I'm using MO, I have the texture I want to see in the game checked. I checked to make sure that the address of the texture was right compared to the orginal texture in the .bsa. I have archive invalidation checked in my MO profile. What on earth is wrong? It's not even all the texture replaces, it's only some of them. Like I can reskin the chems, but not fission battery or the radier graffiti.

I've got a quest to find unique gnomes all over the wasteland. I don't know how I got that quest since I didn't install any quest mods at all. I assume it's the Monster Mod, but... why??

If you installed New Vegas Interiors, it's that. Why they added that quest, I don't know. I have a tendency to switch to it when I'm just exploring the Wasteland so I'm tracking one less thing on my hud.

Just so everyone knows, the awesomely crazed TrainWiz has just released his first New Vegas mod.

I'm torn between whether or not to recommend this. It turned into a mess at the end, but some of that was my fault. I couldn't find the last keycard, even though I found the railcar and the one in the roundhouse fairly quickly. I ended up loading the mod in FNVEdit, looking up where each of the keycards had been placed. Which was the offices, but I had searched them top to bottom and still couldn't find it. So I just clipped though the door, and until that point I hadn't realized how massively under-leveled I was for the enemies, and things sucked. But I just pushed though, since I'd been looking for the key for over an hour and just wanted it finished.

So, I guess I would recommend this mod, but just clip though the freaking door at the end if you can't find all of the keycards.

Skyrim mods, usually involving Dwemer or concepts from Morrowind. And terrifying/wonderful things involving Thomas the Train.

Looks possibly nifty.

The biggest bother so far is that New Vegas Reborn requires a beta build of NVSE, as the lowest build number it tolerates is an increment above the last stable build of NVSE.

:stonklol:

Also, every so often when I shoot someone with a slugthrower the body burns up or explodes like I hit them with an energy weapon. It's pretty hilarious.

If you find out what the solution is, please post. I thought I had fixed it myself, as I killed a bunch of legionares last time I played, and those all had the right body textures. But Lombard Station still has that exact texture mess-up and I'm at a complete loss to what the problem is.

I'm trying to install mod cofiguation menu and the fallout 4 stye loot interface.

So which is the actual nvse folder I am supposed to dump extensions into? I know that nvse itself is working since I can launch the game from nvse_loader.exe but none of the dependents load.

I'm installing the .dlls and such directly into the data and src folders.

I did a fresh install, thinking that maybe I had something in there that was doing odd things, but while I get in game I get an reply from the console that the nvse is working, and if mods that are purely .esp working, anything that requires nvse doesn't work. And I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

I've been using Mod Organizer to manage it, besides just pasting in the nvse mods. Is that's what is going wrong?

I've been looking at the vanilla food items and there is literally no reason to make anything in the game besides gecko steaks at Goodsprings, since the difference between the most time consuming food item to put together ( Brahmin Wellington ) and Gecko Steaks is about 25 starvation points.

Like, you either have to buff all the food items, because otherwise you might as well just put them together and sell them and eat Gecko steaks instead.

I just wish I looked at the Gecko steaks first before I spent time making recipes and fighting the GECK.

The JSawyer mod mostly changes the food created by perks ( thin red paste and blood sausage ) by changing their healing rates.

Oddly enough, none of which have Starvation values.

Though I did find a mod that rebuilds JSawyer by script that takes care of the problem by nerfing Gecko steaks and re-arranging the meat steak tiers. And adding roast meat to all of the meat drops.

EDIT: JSawyer Ultimate Edition.

I suddenly feel better about my little food mod.

Speaking of modding, I am on the stage editing the food items I added to makes sure that they and the orginal Fallout 4 recipes have the similar effects. YaoGui Ribs has 15 Damage Resistance for 60 minutes, does feel a little high for New Vegas?

Twincityhacker
Feb 18, 2011

I believe it's 60 minutes IRL time, as the alcohol buff time is given as four minutes.

There is an item in New Vegas that also gives damage resistance, Battle Brew, gives DR for four minutes. It's also considered an alcohol, so I'm not sure if that factors into the effect time or not.

Twincityhacker
Feb 18, 2011

YaoGui meat, raw since there is no in-game cooking recipes for it, gives a flat 10% damage increase for two minutes. Maybe 15 DR for four minutes since you cook it?

I think I messed up how HP is added as well. Most of the cooked stuff gives ex. 1 HP for 30 seconds, while I have it calculated as like 2 HP for 15 seconds.

Like this one will restore about 1/3 the h20 of regular filtered water but last three times as long.

I think the only thing I added that used Pre-War food was the Dirty Wastelander which uses Nuka-Colas. The idea of 1.0 of the food mod is to give every vanilla meat and egg item a cooked version and a superior cooked version. Kinda like the teas in Fallout 76 - Simple, Steeped and Infused. Like you can just survive in the Mojave with just a source of clean water, some planters, and your weapon of choice.

After I make all the recipes for the new food items and release 1.0, I think I might add something beyond Mac & Cheese & Cram.
