There were a lot of people (like me) whose first Fallout game was 3, where there was a lot more looting/killing dungeons and way more random encounters. Then came FNV. While there are some areas like the quarry and vault 34, often you could walk through a multi-room complex with no enemies and maybe find a few rounds of ammo, a few caps and a carton of cigarettes. Or go for long walks and encounter NO enemies, or if you were lucky some mantises which would die if a level 3 character looked at them funny.

Even though it didn't make sense to have monsters and loot everywhere in a new setting which is more civilized and everything has already been picked clean, I did miss the killing/looting aspect, which was why WoP was so welcome.

Of course, WoP went way overboard and every gang member was each carrying more loot than the Sierra Madre. The fighting was fun though.

That was fast. Adds Dead Money weapons to perk lists they're missing from.

A World of Pain got updated with over 30 new locations, totaling over 90 in all. Not compatible with the Frankie voice mod, but otherwise current save games should be compatible.

"Better That Gun" - not to be confused with "A Better That Gun." This is just a really good retex to go with the new (official patched) stats that make it kick rear end now. (Not made by me, just thought I would share)

The creator of A World of Pain just joined another project, so if you were waiting for a finished AWOP with full quests, it probably won't happen. I wish he had just concentrated on making random cool areas to explore instead of trying to include an over-ambitious, badly written, never-to-be-completed quest.

Still, the guy is a level-making beast, and it will be interesting to see what he does with that other project.

Any tips for this? or is the mod just lovely?
Yeah, AWOP sucks now. It started out fun but he just kept piling poo poo on top of it that didn't need to be there, including a half-assed quest he'll never finish because he's joining another project.

If you uninstall it, make sure you're not carrying any of those "4D Storage Modules" (or whatever they're called) before you do, or that might bug the game up more.

Woah, what the gently caress happened to World of Pain? I installed and I think it's a pretty good mod, was there a new update that made it poo poo that I missed or something?
The random dungeons and stuff are cool. The quest stuff with Frankie and the Underground is pretty lame. The Underground isn't even interesting to look at or play through. The extra-powered weapons and such that he added were a weak attempt at balance after he just packed everything with too many/overpowered monsters.

If running it doesn't make the game buggy for you then have fun with the extra dungeons and such. But IMO the quality dropped once he tried adding quests and characters.

Make sure you drop "4D Storage Device" or "Rusty 4D Storage Device" or whatever they're called, that could bug out your carrying capacity. Also make sure you or your companions aren't wearing/equipped with any of the AWOP special weapons/armor, which usually have a letter at the end ("Merc Troublemaker Outfit M" for example). Other than that, run from a clean save (not quick/auto) and you SHOULD be ok.

I am playing Honest Hearts and noticed I never got the "When We Remembered Zion" achievement even though I was there for several hours. On a hunch I disabled "Karma Neutralized" .esp (Keeps Karma Neutral no matter what you do or what it was before), loaded up an earlier save, went to Zion and I got the achievement.

So can I assume that something that messes with the game stats like that will prevent achievements? Or was it a fluke?

I made 3 files that fix the weapon clipping on the backs of the Ranger Combat Armor, the Desert Ranger Combat Armor from Honest Hearts, and all versions of Riot Gear from Lonesome Road. All I did is check the "Uses Backpack" boxes on all the armors so the rifles are reversed in position like when wearing Power Armor. Simple fix many of you could do but I put it up for convenience.

Just FYI I found a different clipping fix for the Ranger Combat armor Variants that actually replaces the meshes, though there is still clipping on the Advanced Riot Gear because of the big pauldrons. So use whatever calms your OCD down.

Better Lonesome Road Riot Gear Coats

Makes the coats look a little better but the main thing is they actually fix the weird way they look when crouched.

Are there really people that play the game in third person? It's so unbelievably badly animated and janky looking I can't imagine ever using it for any length of time.
I play in it most of the time, except in cramped areas where 1st person is easier for looking through crates and such. I'm constantly switching back and forth. The animations don't bother me. The only things that bother me is stuff like the extreme clipping on some of the NV armors (Ranger Combat Armor being the worst, did they think no one would notice that?), which isn't hard to find fixes for on PC.

I guess I make a cool looking dude/woman I want to see them in action. Doesn't seem much point in customizing them otherwise.

My most recent playthrough started out as a "be a dick at all costs, kill everyone if you don't get what you want" archetype character but I wussed out immersion-wise and just ended up playing as 'myself' again because I couldn't bring myself to kill all the nice people in Novac. It's so hard for me to be emotionally detached towards this game. :smith:
I was the same way with my ex-Talon merc guy and had to rationalize why he was being so nice to everyone. I started a new guy with the jsawyer mod and it's at least easier to be Neutral since every ghoul/convict kill isn't rocketing me to sainthood.

Is there a known bug with dialog with Emily Ortal? After I planted the bug I talked to her and my male character got both dialog options for Cherchez La Femme and Black Widow, and I'm not even using the male equivalents. It might be the jsawyer mod. (The only other mods I'm running are Lings, Tailor Maid, Populated Casinos Medium and Military Expansion Project) I'm running Hardcore and used Meeting People to get info out of her.

There WAS a full list someone had made (other than what Cream-Of-Plenty posted), but I can't find it anywhere, even on the Vault wiki. If someone can Google better than me, I'd like to see it too.

So is Increased Wasteland Spawns worth using, or are there any better alternatives? I gifted a friend the vanilla game and I just know he's going to be like "where all the monsters at."
