Does anybody know if it's possible to un-support the Omertas for the Yes-Man quest? The whole "figure out what they're doing" thing was really vague and it wasn't at all clear to me that working my way up to the big guy was actually going to lock me into supporting them. And even when it said so in my journal, I assumed that I would retain the "ignore them" option that every other faction had after having done their respective quest lines. I tried just slaughtering everyone in their casino, but it made no difference. I don't know what exactly they're up to, but I'm assuming it's not good based on the hit to my reputation on the Strip. Plus the whole "oh by the way, we're planning on killing everyone and taking over. And you're supporting us on that now, thanks, see ya" with no way to back out.

Hell, if you guys are gonna nerd out about it, go balls to the wall. Add monkey burgers to the food loot table, make having sex with prostitutes have a random chance of infecting you with singing boils, an info-pollen degenerative disease trait, and maybe a sex muppet melee weapon.

Now that you mention it, it certainly sounds that way if all you know about it is what I just said. I guess you could take my word for it that it's not a comic that relies on non-sequitur humor. Or don't.

There's only one thing that need be done now, and that is to make a Morte companion mod. Everybody drop what you're doing and get to work on this.

It halves the health and damage of all cazadores, which brings them more in check with mutated insects.

I think this is gonna be my first installed mod. I wasn't gonna bother with anything until my second playthrough, but I loving hate those things so much. I'll take any enemy over them. Bring on hordes of centurions, I'll blow their brains out before they finish their first swing. But goddamn cazadores will fly over faster than the speed of sound and fill me full of poison while laughing at my space age super armor.

They're pretty much the cliff racers of new vegas. Less annoying, but actually a threat even at high levels.

They're one of the few monsters that you actually can't just decide to snipe in the head from 1,000 paces.

That's basically the only reason they give me trouble. The problem isn't so much the fact that I can't kill them from half a mile away, but that I CAN kill everything ELSE from half a mile away, so it's weird.

My Weapon Mod Kits (WMK) mod for Fallout 3 was the inspiration for Obsidian's implementation of the weapon modding system in Fallout New Vegas; something which I am quite proud of and flattered by. I like Obsidian's take on it; enough that I wanted to add to it... 'expand' upon it, you might say.

Is that true or is the guy just full of himself?

I think rope kid made a post about using ideas from FO3 mods for features in New Vegas. Basically, they used ideas they liked, and implemented them in a much more efficient manner.

EDIT: Here's the post.
Ah, interesting. Glad they gave popular modders props.

The guy isn't full of himself, if anything he's graceful about it. He could be a total fuckhead and say 'hey that's MY idea they STOLE IT! arrrgh' but instead he says he's flattered.
Oh definitely, he's handled it well given the fact that they actually did draw inspiration from his work. But if they hadn't, it would have been arrogant to assume that because they have weapon mods in New Vegas they MUST have gotten the idea from his FO3 mod. I didn't know whether there were other weapon mod MODs for FO3 or whether his was particularly popular or not. I also didn't know that his mod was basically exactly how they ended up implementing the system in New Vegas.

Now I want a mod that replaces NPC chatter with Morrowind sound files. Though I'd settle for a random chance of securitrons saying a Vivec guard line. Or just replace everything they say with "we're watching you, scum."

I've found a massive two-handed katana on the Nexus. This, combined with a "stealth recon duster" from the advanced assault recon mod (or whatever it's called) will make my character look like an anime.

But can you dual-wield two of them

I still don't get how people use power armor. Even when I'm wearing medium I feel like I'm running at a snails pace.
The problem I have is that I played FO2 so many times that it's really hard to disengage the mental process that tells me "power armor is the best armor with no downsides so get that poo poo in a hurry."
