I think this is passive aggressive Howard. He didn't get a huge contract this time around, so his response is, "Fine, I'm obligated to provide X hours of live content at a minimum, and that's exactly what I am going to provide!"

Opie from O&A is doing the same thing right now, and it's even worse than Howard's temper tantrum. He'll cut people off mid sentence or just dump the show in the middle of interesting discussions once 10 hits.

It's loving annoying.

Well, I remember once he was sued for not incorporating a product he was paid to endorse into the "show" part of the show.

After learning of that suit, I always wonder if what he's talking about paid him to talk about it.

I don't care, because radio wars are stupid. But it's clear that Howard is a hypocrite and no one should take anything he says on the radio as any sort of truth.

In fact, you should never take anything anyone says on an entertainment show as truth. Just suspend your disbelief and enjoy the ride.

Pardon me for being an idiot, but isn't the tube analogy kind of right in some spots? There are various connections to various servers/computers around the world. They can each only handle so much data at a time, and if that data exceeds how much the "tube" can take, it has trouble getting through because the servers are overloaded with data from the tube?

The problem I have with three days a week is that we'll get more crappy guests crammed into the spots that would normally just be them bullshitting and streching because they don't have anything else going on.

I've always liked the "Lets stir up some poo poo" aspects of the show more than the produced segments or interviews. With less time to fill, we're going to get more produced segments and interviews crowding out the stuff I prefer.

I know that most of the companies that advertise on radio commercials are shady at best, but those ones for Regus stand out to me.

The best I can tell, they rent out a floor in an upscale office building, fix up a bunch of offices, and timeshare them out to people who don't need a 24/7 office.

On the surface this seems like a decent idea, but when you think about it, would you really want to do business with someone who has to call ahead to make sure an office is available to them before they can meet with you? And then they have to sneak in quick before you get there and place family photos on the desk and diplomas on the wall so it looks like it belongs to them.

It just seems like it is setup to cater to fly-by-night operators who need to make quick getaways.

Actually, it's a pretty legit way of doing business. If you want to put your sales force (one or two guys) in another city and don't want the overhead for an office, it's a great way to do it. The sales guys will generally work out of their home, but have a business address for mail and a conference room when they need it.

I know nothing about Regus in particular, but know that many of the bigger financial companies use something like this for their wholesalers.

Edit: OF course, I deal with them in a Business to Business environment and there's an understanding of wanting to keep down overhead.

I think Howard should probably spread the wealth a bit more amongst the office staff, but on the other hand I guess their insurance coverage is very good, and they have to spend very little out of pocket for it.

Clearly, howard knew about the potential of this suit when re-signing with Sirius. Since he takes lawsuits personally, it's clear he has something personal against serious when he resigned. That animosity toward sirius has clearly resulted in us getting lovely shows and an even more reduced schedule.
