LOVE that Howard called out the people who have their assistants make calls for them. It's such a power bullshit move. I work at a talent agency, and they all do it. No one can make their own calls. I'm not talking about when they're in the car or out of the office; this is literally when they're sitting in their office and they want to talk to someone they have the assistant call and then they put the callee on hold while the agent picks up the phone. "Hold for so-and-so please."

Actually, I would have bet that Howard would be one of those types, but I'm glad to hear he's not. The thing is, everyone knows that's it's bullshit and lame. It impresses no one, and annoys pretty much everyone. So I don't know why it continues.

Piers Morgan was really good today.

I know I'm on a posting spree today, but I want to comment on this as well. I actually had a notion to try and call in this morning but I didn't think I'd get through. If you take away the dumb celebrity interviews (and that bullshit "feud" he has with Howard, which is clearly a joke on Piers' part), Piers is doing really well, I think. I think the Egypt protests might have been the best thing that could have happened to him. The celebrity interviews are death and he's horrible at them, but when he was interviewing actual news makers about actual news, he was great. Very erudite, knowledgeable, and he would add just enough opinion to make it interesting and not be over the top. So I hope they let him continue to do a newsy-type show and give him time to find his audience. CNN will definitely lose some viewers, but they would have anyway, since he's not going to have a Howard Stern or an Oprah Winfrey on every night.

okay that's it i'm done now

I wonder if this will get more people to sign up for Sirius. I mean mainly former listeners/fans who didn't follow him over to satellite. It's like a free bit of Howard teaser that might entice people to jump on board.

Seriously. If this company goes under it won't have anything to do with peoples' willingness to adopt new technology or the content on the channels or competition with regular radio. It will fail from mismanagement and complete business incompetence.

Yeah, that sounded insane. A wedding in the summer?? Ridiculous! Because everyone who lives in New York can afford to leave their homes in the summer. He and Robin both sounded like assholes.

I love the Fight Week stuff on 101, but what's annoying me is Howard's voice is exactly as we know it now, but everyone else's is really, really low. Which makes me wonder if Howard is such a baby and so vain about the sound of his voice that he took everyone's voice down just so he'd sound good.

But my theory is that he's doing something now to the tapes of his old shows to make his whiny older voice sound deeper, like it does now. Which makes him sound "normal" and everyone else sound much deeper than normal. I think we can be certain that he does something to it now as I believe he's said that before.
