After the marriage is when it really fell over as far as I'm concerned.

The beginning of the end though was when Sal told the horse joke at one of the roasts and Beth got all put out over it so Howard prevented anyone from making jokes about her.

I honestly think that the show would be better if they had a goal or some kind of competition. When they were on FM, it was always a war with management, the FCC, station managers, etc. At Sirus everyone kisses his rear end and reminds him on a daily basis how great he is.

When they first got to Sirius, all the rage on the show was directed at CBS and getting the tapes back. Then it was war with XM and soon the FTC over the merger.

There is no incentive to be edgy anymore. If you can sit on top the mountain relying on the same bits and guests on a 3 month rotation and no one can knock you down, why even try?

He was only doing 20% of the shows he did during his first three years, so an 80% paycut seems pretty reasonable.

This is true but they have been slowly lowballing him ever since he signed up. Sirius loving around with his contract is the reason he had to go back to FM. Then Sirius offered him less money even when they were doing two shows a day which is why we now have (had) a replay during the week and only one live show.

I wonder how old that system is. If that computer is only running the "Gary preview page noine" program why does it lock up all the time?

I bet you the mouse if connected via serial port or something, it's so old.

Regarding whether or not the interviews are fake, I do think some of the "guests" do sound alike. The guy from the Kirk Douglas/Crackhead Bob interview sounds a lot like the guy from the Dick Clark one. I don't necessarily think they're faking the whole thing. They may do an interview with a book author, but get a voice actor to redo the whole thing since they can't get the okay from the original person. I have my doubts about this since you'd figure they'd make everyone sign something beforehand to give Sirus the right to do anything they drat well please. On the other hand, maybe they're so afraid of getting sued like Sacha Baron Cohen that they re-record them. Then again, why not just do that with the calls they can't get permission on?

There was a time when Artie alluded to big secret about Sal's clock call that people speculated that meant that it was fake. Howard also admitted to "sweetening" things like Stuttering John's stuttering to make it sound worse than it did.

I remember a while ago them saying that Richard had the ability to talk to these people, calm them down, and then get their permission to play the call. Things like that Blue Iris call where the old lady says "I'll gently caress you with my shotgun".

He's also said that there is a collection of really good calls but they can't play them because certain people won't give permission.

In the early 90s, the local guys I listened to used to prank call people all the time. They had to stop because management was too scared someone would drop the F bomb and it might get out on the air. I also seem to remember someone saying that the FCC wouldn't allow it anymore.

Bubba has also spoken a few times on this regarding Ned's calls. He eluded to the fact that they had to pay the person a "fee" in order to air them so it's easier to just fake it. If you listen to most of Ned's calls, the female "receptionist" voice is almost always the same.

Also, what was it that got Chauncey off the show? What about Cabbie? Was it the porno that finally got him banned?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but Chauncey kept feeding bullshit stories about Howard to gossip rags.

Cabbie was ultimately banned a few years ago. He was in the studio to promote some kind of weight loss supplement and as soon as he walked in Howard told him that he looked fatter then before.

The company sued (or tired to) Howard for lost revenue and Cabbie also badmouthed him over the incident. Howard then stated that that would be the last time he would deal with him.

I think Artie may have done a few benefits for/with him after but he's not been on the show since.

If they put someone in the chair then they (sirius) have to pay for them to be there. No way in hell they are going to spend anymore money at this point.

Bubba met Heather when he was not in radio but he wasn't exactly broke either.

The chick that was with Bubba when he was 500lbs and wiped his rear end was another girl.

Bubba does not mind if Heather is with other women and it's Brent and his wife Amanda that do the swinging thing.

Last I hear Bubba claims his mother and sister cause issues between him and Heather so he's stopped speaking to them. I guess they talk bad about her or something.

Eric's lifespan is always in question. Because of this, I'm sure that since birth he's been coddled and has had his every need looked after and every wish granted.

He thinks he deserves things because that's how he's been raised. He wants something, someone feels sorry for him and gives it to him and he doesn't have to do a thing in return.

I wish they would have his parents on or someone that knew him well growing up that could shed some light on this.

On the other hand, he's just as smart as the rest of the Superfans and whack packers that have no scruples and have figured out how to do nothing in life but use other people up to get a free ride.
