I can't believe you guys still watch Bill's drivel. More power to you.

I've seen Kisin on that disgusting Unherd youtube channel and I :lol:ed when he was defending Ukraine's right to exist and to be given aid by the West but also saying most Ukrainians living in Lviv and Kiev don't give one poo poo about Crimea, Donetsk, and Lugansk.

I think the problem is that when people like Bill or Piers say "free speech" what they mean is that everyone should clap like seals when they are speaking.

Yeah they want to be free from people rightfully calling them idiots when they say dumb poo poo.

I'm assuming Maher had him on because Kisin gave a dreadful speech at the Oxford Union that went viral.

Holy poo poo, James Lindsay spoke at Oxford Union :hmbol:

Oh jeez, Kosin's climate change takes are awful. Asia and Latin America are going to be responsible for all the blame for the climate being turbofucked? That these 'poor people' don't give a poo poo about saving the climate? But yet he whines that people in other countries (like Ukraine) have and deserve agency. Don't protest, don't throw soup on paintings. Like there's no possibility that some oil heiress isn't behind that act, instead of 'wokeness'. Why are comedians opinions given such a lofty platform? they're all dim degenerates lol

LOS ANGELES—In a controversial move earning him the ire of the Writers Guild of America, television host Bill Maher confirmed this week that he would cross picket lines to put his show Real Time back on the air, citing concerns his aging fan base would die off before the writers’ strike ended. “Look, the fact is, we have no idea how long this thing could go on, and the people who actually enjoy my show are dying off by the day,” said the comedian and WGA member, explaining that his producers had shown him a series of actuarial charts and warned that his show would need a ratings bump this fall before his remaining viewers began to enter hospice...

Yeah, honestly, exactly what I would expect.

Side panel guest is Justin Roiland.

New Rules would be making some kind of comparison between Ukraine and the WGA with the conclusion that both should give up so Bill’s life can return to what he expects as normal.

Boomers think he’s a liberal and he likes to claim that he didn’t change, the liberals did…

…which is completely ignoring that literally one of the tenets of liberalism is that you adapt to whomever or whatever needs to be lifted at that given time, and that by him not changing that means he’s following one of the tenets of conservatism, but he’s also a loving idiot so what can you do?

Bill took a moment to thank the writers and crew for getting everything operational on short notice.

I've never seen Desantis look that comfortable, and even then he was visibly bracing for a gotcha dunk. Surreal. And Matt Walsh next episode? Show is going from "let's respect right-wingers for being willing to visit" to straight ghoulishness. To wit: Walsh authored the anti-trans "Johnny the Walrus" children's book for insufferable adults and recorded a takedown of another children's book meant to teach children consent. (Although comedian/actor Matt Walsh would be a treat)

EDIT: Whoops, it's Matt Welch, silly reactive me

I watched the DeSantis interview and it pretty much confirms that Maher is explicitly a "i'm a classic liberal, so I'm voting MAGA now" centrist. Shoutout to the part where he said that Ron called COVID right and will stand against vaxxers.

Just loving heinous, all the way around.

(Hilariously, DeSantis came off pretty well. I've unfortunately seen him on a bunch of MAGA places and he felt much more relaxed and comfortable here. Telling, that.)

Some peak panel idiocy to get into a mutual tangent on Big, Flourishing Words to Sound Correct and Eloquent in regards to campaign finance and the current horrid straits of the lot---yet wholly omit "Citizens United" from the braying.

Given who was on the panel it isn't a huge surprise, but even from the worst of people you'd think the bar would be a tad higher than ankle height by now.
