There may have been an incident with a kitchen implement and his hand... the implement may have been a sandwich toaster and I may have introduced his hand to it.
How expensive is expensive? Are we just talking non-point and shoots?

Our first pet, Jei. She was a shelter cat and they pronounced it Jay, so I call her Jay-Bird, since she often likes to kill birds. Anyone else's cat sleep like this? She always lays like this, I assume it's because she feels so comfortable with us.

Our second pet, Grizzly. Also was a shelter dog. I love his brindle coat!

And our last pet, Ooze, we got him as a heartmeltingly adorable kitten.

I wish, only the 1 kitty. Sometimes I think I should get him a friend. But my roommate probably wouldn't be too happy about that. I take him over to play with my gf's cats once a week usually.

Last night my apartment got evacuated due to dangerous levels of CO leaking into the building, but I didn't get there until they were about to board the place up. The firemen had broken my door down to make sure no one was left in the unit and just found my cat. What I would give to have seen my kitty with the hunky firemen! :3:
Instead I just have pictures of her with Santa:

Have any of you pet photographers done Santa photos for charity like PetsMart does?

Story conclusion: stuck at my parents' house until further notice.

I mostly only take pet pictures, or pics of cool textures for use in design...

This weekend I stole some Photolights from work under the guise of taking good pet pictures, but really I was trying to get my wife in some sexy lingerie. I only ended up with dog pictures...

I'm just now really getting into photography, and I got a new lens today so I'm excited to go home and use it...on the dogs.

This is Monkey, the cross eyed cat.

I used a Oly E-510 and a Mamiya/Sears f1.4 lens on a screwmount adaptor. Natural light was used as Monkey has the fastest blink of any cat I've ever seen, every flash picture finds him with his eyes closed.

As for the lens, it came attached to my first camera, a Sears Mamiya 1000MXB that I spent all summer saving up for. Still have it after all these years and it still works like it did new. And the lens doesn't do too badly.

That's odd, because my cats suddenly lose all will to live as soon as a sunbeam comes in through the back door. Their legs turn to jello and they remain stationary until dinner time.

edit - here, see. I took this shot because I had the ipod handy and this cat has still not recovered from the sun. This is where she was when I got home from work.

Flash in manual mode. The TTL pre-flashes probably make him blink.

The worst part is when you finally have enough light that they don't look like black blobs.. their fur doesn't look black anymore.

My black cat turns into an orangish-grey cat in the sun.
