Only way to get decent photos of him is by being quite a long way away: See, this is the perfect time to start justifying that 600mm f/4 af-s lens (that you know you're pining for) to the wife. That said, the shot is fantastic!

I dug a 300mm/4 super Takumar from the back corner of a storage cupboard and tried playing with it, though the MFD of 7 meters made things awkward.
