Welp, dunno about you guys but I'm looking forwards to bonus content mission 4.

Conclusions: Being able to move so fast the camera breaks is annoying, the Wolverine is a truly terrible 'Mech to play as, and the machine gun is possibly the worst weapon in the whole game for killing enemy 'Mechs (It is however perfect for figure skating). Also, I'm putting far too much effort into this.

If you know nothing about Battletech and it's the only "Battletech" novel you will ever read, it's probably not that bad, just very pulp.

edit: AFAIK the GDL was the first merc unit written about in a BT novel. Decision at Thunder Rift was one of the (if not the first) BT book in print IIRC.

Yes, the first three BT novels had the Gray Death Legion as protagonists.

Personally, I think some of the stuff that came later was far worse. If you think that killing a Wasp with a truck mounted machine gun was bad, wait for that mechanic main character chick that disables mechs unarmed and in a ball dress. :colbert:

The Urbanmech is probably the most discussed mech in this thread.

Clearly Poptartsninja has to come up with a scenario where all players pilot Urban mechs. We have to get this out of our system.

For example in the first Grey Death Legion novel, Grayson (local mary sue/founder) basically takes down 3 mechs with a machine gun and an inferno SRM. They try to make it more realistic with a support ppc on hand later on... but his underlying master tactic to take down a mech with a machine gun? shoot the cockpit.

Well, which part would you shoot at if you only had a machinegun and have to take down a motherfucking mech?

Of all the main character taking down a mech on foot scenarios in the novels, this was one of the better ones.

_{But then, I have read that book over twenty years ago, and it might actually be quite horrible.}
