Would a hypothetical analyst who worked twice as fast as an average analyst get to go home early in banking?

Thoogsby posted:To elaborate, a good portion of your time as an analyst is spent "on the beach". Meaning that you might not be working on something but you're waiting to work on something or get an assignment. Even if you're unaware of any pending assignments you still need to be ready to work. Is there literally nothing to work on during this time, or are you doing long-term projects? I find it hard to believe that you can work 14 hours a day at peak efficiency for a sustained period of time.

I still remember the first day of my Intro to Finance course in undergrad. "If you know so much about finance, why aren't you a millionaire trading stocks?" Prof tried to laugh it off but his face was pretty drat .

You can still work long hours in the UK, its somewhat more about mindset/approach. As a gross generalization: well, reasonably aggressive enough to want to work yourself to death http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2397527/Bank-America-Merrill-Lynch-intern-Moritz-Erhardt-dead-working-long-hours.html

tolerabletariff posted:Yeah I mean I can't even imagine a situation where it would be better to use TRUE than a MATCH function... I have no idea why it defaults to TRUE, I feel like this is the root of most LOOKUP busts The classic example to use TRUE is converting test scores into grades (i.e. converting a range of values). Why it defaults to TRUE, I have no idea.
