Ignore the audio, the only clip I can find is dubbed in Finnish.

Jon Hess is simply put, the greatest fighter in the history of all possible universes. He has studied all known fighting styles, found them lacking, and developed his own, the Scientific Aggressive Fighting Techniques of America, or SAFTA. The emphasis here is on scientific. SAFTA is better than Muay Thai, Wrestling, or BJJ because of science. Watch that science on display here. (Hess is the giant dude)

Wrestling Basics matches since i don't have archives:

El Generico posted:

If we're going to do "recommended matches", I suggest we split them into style categories, best spotfests, best technical matches, best WWE-style big matches.

Here are my picks. I'm using Observer rankings, and sticking to WWE and TNA, since indies are harder to find full matches online for, and being able to just watch may hook some people. I'm also trying to pick some good stuff from an MMA perspective I guess. I'm also trying to pick recentish stuff.

AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. Christopher Daniels - Unbreakable 2005
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X64B7SK4-XQ

This is possibly the best match to ever come out of TNA and you can watch the whole thing on Youtube.

Bret Hart vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (Submission Match) - Wrestlemania 13
Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EsacJWBq4N4
Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V957AsMie9I
Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWcJRw2QCkg
Part 4 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V86vB0Lijfo

One of the best stories ever told in a wrestling ring. The build up to the match is explained at the beginning of the first part.

AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgOCjfmRCEs

Another full-length match on Youtube from TNA, another match from this fantastic period of time in TNA when these three guys were putting on amazing matches with each other again and again.

Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle - Wrestlemania 21
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4...e-wrestl_events
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4...e-wrestl_events

Two of the best, doing what they do best and putting on a kickass match.

America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris) vs. Triple X (Christopher Daniels and Elix Skipper) (Six Sides of Steel) - Turning Point 2004
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTN89mc-iTI

Let's not neglect tag team wrestling, and TNA has always somehow managed to have great tag teams, perhaps just by virtue of caring about tag teams at all, unlike WWE. Everyone remembers this match for one big spot but it's awesome all around.

Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit - Royal Rumble 2003
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4LVeYSxkRU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4-pmboRlYg

Whenever these two technical masters met in the ring, some awesome poo poo happened. This is probably their best match.

Some joshi recommendations.

Mayumi Ozaki/Dynamite Kansai vs. Manami Toyota/Toshiyo Yamada, 2/3 Falls (Dreamslam II)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1YxHPBwsaw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EfE-w9cXfI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH6Z-7KVMF4

Four of the best women's wrestlers of all time. They had a trio of high-profile tag matches during the AJW/JWP interpromotional period. This was the Wrestling Observer match of the year for 1993.

Manami Toyota vs. Kyoko Inoue (May 7, 1995)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v35kiIsLXHc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUaEfkVLf9U
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRfI-NcD9tw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAIfh-aYkxg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_TdVXvHlwo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5LGEy-Uuuw

This is for Manami's WWWA Championship (aka the Big Red Belt). WO's 1995 match of the year and with good reason: two of the best ever in a time period where they were two of the best workers in the world. Starts out fast and never lets up. Big moves and big drama. Toyota is generally considered the best female wrestler of all time for a reason.

Crush Gals vs. Devil Masami/Jaguar Yokota (1984)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVrS5BaX2fw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dyn30fSGjnM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTHtW8jYoKk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHwGzw2-QWc

Again, four of the best of all time. Jaguar especially is really important due to being a great worker and eventually becoming AJW head trainer when she retired for the first time in 1984. Just about every big star from the mid-late '80s through the early '90s was most likely trained by her.

Kaori Yoneyama vs. Azumi Hyuga (December 9, 2007)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPRAizXKvmA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sj48j0n-II
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QjlQvH9piQ

Yoneyama had been around for awhile but this is the match that really put her on the map. Hyuga was always great and together they put on a really good match that makes you believe Yoneyama might just be able to capture the belt.

Jun Kasai/Miyako Matsumoto vs. Nanae Takahashi/Kazumi Shimouma vs. GENTARO/Keita Yano (March 3, 2010)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf-EGlM81qA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=is0Z-nYLJ38
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hpKI6Q3-jM

One thing joshi's pretty good at doing is comedy, working the goofiness into the actual match structure. Sakura Hirota and Aoi Kizuki were both pretty good at this and Miyako Matsumoto's the current queen. She won't put on a clinic but her good looks and ridiculous amounts of personality can carry her through a match that's at least entertaining.

I, honestly, blame this match for getting me back into wrestling 6 years ago. It is loving incredible.

Edit: the general story of the match is that it is Atsushi Onita's retirement match against then up and comer Hayabusa. It is essentially a "passing of the torch" deal, seeing if Hayabusa can be the new face of Frontier Marital-Arts Wrestling (FMW). The exploding barb wire cage gimmick is used incredibly well.

As others mentioned, it was a staged fight but Puder decided to do what he wanted, rather than go with what was scripted. Angle was super pissed because the kid refused to follow instruction and decided to be a smartass instead (I'm guessing as a way to try to get himself over). Stupid move overall, because if you can't listen and do what you're told, bad things happen and people get legit hurt, or matches turn into botchfests.

I have NEVER received the respect I deserve as the leader and founder of The Masterflock, the internet's largest and oldest Christopher Masterpiece fan group in all of history, and I DEMAND that changes. From now on, you will respect Skinty McEdger!

Most of the time in wrestling what goes on in the ring is predetermined. For the most part wrestlers know its in their interests to cooperate to make money and protect each other in the ring. There are times however when something goes wrong, someone decides to not play his role or two guys who just plain can't stand each other get in the same ring. Then all bets are off.

In 1977 wrestling nobody The Great Antonio decided to start no selling his opponents attack. His mistake was to do so against Antonio Inoki. This proved unwise.

I checked it out, apparently it was a few months after the Pillman incident - Austin broke into Pillman's house in November '96 during a Raw show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uiKQW0ply0&NR=1

The show I was at happened in April '97 but it was still an ongoing storyline, I think that was a big reason Pillman aligned himself with the Hart Foundation, so he'd have some backup. Still one of the best WWF shows I'd been to at the time, that place was jammed and loving loud when they popped for Austin.
