why was kurt angle so upset?

Three I's baby!

As others mentioned, it was a staged fight but Puder decided to do what he wanted, rather than go with what was scripted. Angle was super pissed because the kid refused to follow instruction and decided to be a smartass instead (I'm guessing as a way to try to get himself over). Stupid move overall, because if you can't listen and do what you're told, bad things happen and people get legit hurt, or matches turn into botchfests.

To contribute - the good ol' days in '97, when Austin was just getting super over and the Hart Foundation reunited (Bulldog, Owen, Bret, and Pillman). This is part 2 of a show I actually attended here in Omaha, NE at the Civic Auditorium (8th row floor seats, wish I could find pics I have of all the wrestlers that we saw since we sat right near the aisle where a lot of them made their getaways)

Is that clip you posted from the week after pillman attacked sc3:16 in his home and a gunshot went off ending the episode?

I checked it out, apparently it was a few months after the Pillman incident - Austin broke into Pillman's house in November '96 during a Raw show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uiKQW0ply0&NR=1

The show I was at happened in April '97 but it was still an ongoing storyline, I think that was a big reason Pillman aligned himself with the Hart Foundation, so he'd have some backup. Still one of the best WWF shows I'd been to at the time, that place was jammed and loving loud when they popped for Austin.

I think that's what was best about Gene - guys would ad-lib or improvise and he would just roll right along with it like it was all part of the original promo. Wrestling needs more of this kind of thing, people ask why I miss the old WWF days, and I just tell them "go home and Google a promo with Mean Gene and Macho Man"

That's what I love about Miz, he can talk and put guys over - same with Cena, even though his SuperCena gimmick is played out, behind the scenes he's genuinely trying to put guys over and cares about the other talent. I agree that HHH could have done more, I get that maybe he's joking about Zack and the "four fans" but still, he didn't seem genuine when he said that hopefully guys like Zack would be the future...sounded too forced to me.

Not sure, but you'll notice he starts to get really emotional during his talk about his weight loss. My guess would be when he was heavier, maybe he had health complications? One of those "lose weight and get healthy or die" situations? It's like he's reflecting back on bad news he got or something.

I can't think of a way that Cena can turn heel and it'll keep the older fans from cheering him other than going after the Attitude Era and killing off sacred cows.

Cena cheats to win, turns his back on his fans, resents them for still liking Rock after he was gone for almost a decade. Maybe does the spiel of "I did what I could to be a good role model, and I got treated like garbage for it" (not verbatim but something along those lines, e.g. fans don't have faith in me, why should I care about them?)

Two birds, one stone - Rock gets beat, that sort of covers the "burial" and disrespect of Attitude Era WWE. Cena gets nuclear heat, and even though he goes over and wins, people hate him because he not only beat the Rock, but for all the trash talk beforehand and the cheating to win. I honestly think WWE might be stepping in that direction, and a year is quite a while away when you look at it - watch the RAW right before WM27 when Cena AA's Rock, and the crowd reaction, along with how Cena acts. Reminded me of his early rapper heel gimmick, actually.

Thankfully he had the surgery to get it removed early on, or he'd probably be having the same trouble now that Andre did near the end of his career.

Still amazes me that someone Brock's size could pull off a move like that, when normally it was the smaller guys that did it. Made that much more impact knowing that it's a 300+ pound guy coming off the rope, rather than someone under 200 doing it. Well, I was thinking more of a future deal - like when Punk decides to stop actively wrestling, like Heenan did. Sure, Brain still took bumps once in a while but for the most part, he was a manager/broadcast journalist during his WWF tenure.

Punk did well with Nexus and sort of with SES but I'd rather see it toned down a bit, where he can speak for guys that aren't comfortable on the mic, and strictly take on a management role with a variety of guys. He's definitely got a quick wit and knows how to say and do things when it comes to promos and putting guys over.

Regal will always be king. Even if he did have to reduce himself to mostly smacking the guy around, it's cool he still gets to do matches once in a while.

He seems like a genuinely good guy (provided you don't piss him off, but that can go for anyone) and he never seems to have issue helping guys and putting them over. I remember seeing one of the recent NXT shows where Bryan Danielson was wrestling and Regal was on commentary, and Bryan used the Regal Stretch as his finisher and gave a nod to Regal after the match. First thing I thought was "if Bryan goes heel, they should have Regal be his manager, it would make so much sense with their history".

I honestly hope it happens and we get Regal and Danielson being badass heels on the mic and just tearing people apart with brutal submissions.
