Comedy match obviously and it owns like pretty much any Ebessan/Kamen match. THRILL~! at learning Ebekkosan's SECRET IDENTITY~! Also, watch the post-match shenanigans for a very special guest! Oh and also Ebessan is a giant perv.

Momo Racci Final was Momoe's retirement show and she wrestled the both opening (this match) and final matches on the card. Fun fact: Her first and final matches in her career were both against Nanae Takahashi (they're pretty much BFFs and Nanae's practically an aunt to Momoe's kids).

Edit: Wikipedia says he was there from 2005-2007. Never knew that. That's one guy I never expected to get another actual full time run at a WWE career.

He basically spent most of it on Velocity and in the midcard and from what I remember was in "cranky old man" mode where he'd do lots of stiff-rear end chops and poo poo. It kind of ruled until they decided to turn him heel with the always-a-winner combo of a losing streak and having him blame racism. He requested his release not long after the heel turn iirc.

I'm guessing a lot of them were just goofy gimmick references like Chii having a megaphone because of her tendency to basically banshee shriek. Or Sayaka Obihiro's keyboard probably being a reference to the fact that 19 O'Clock Pro Wrestling (a sub-brand of Ice Ribbon that she was the centerpiece of before her injury) streams their weekly show on Ustream.

Kind of wish the listings in the description were in order of appearance though because even with it I still only knew who a few people were either because I knew them already or they were pretty easy to figure out.

Also Kikutaro filming everything on his phone while wrestling is great.

Since I mentioned it in the Raw GDT right before it closed figure I'll post here what FLIK describes as "bizarre rear end AJW training footage" from their TV show. It's really not an exaggeration at all. This stuff gets kind of weird and brutal and you'll probably be uncomfortable at certain points! And I'll just copy/paste FLIK's posts from the DVDVR boards to give actual context and poo poo.

First up, 1990 AJW Training Montage

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQpiZLZh8fo

FLIK posted:

Starts off so nicely with the girls taking a nice cruise on the ocean, little do they know it's a cruise to HELL mwahaha...

The creepy Karate Master dude is back making girls spread their legs or take it in the rear end...literally...tears ensue...

Later on Toyota lets down the roster by not "accidently" kneeing the Karate dude in the nuts when she has the chance.

Bull & crew train on the beach, Aja smashes rocks with her head, a chick (Grizzly???) shoulder blocks trees in the woods.

More serene mediation on the hills.

MADUSA

Something I can only describe as the dry hump air stretch....so much freaky poo poo must have gone down at the Zenjo dojo...

Oh and at the begining we learn that the Marine Wolves/Fire Jets alliance were called "The 60's Soldiers" and the Tokyo Sweethearts/Dream Orca coalition were "The 62's Fighters"....gently caress if I know why but yup...

And 1991 AJW Training Montage

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz9viqb2FnI
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqVmDUZEIq8

FLIK posted:

This time, most of the lower & mid card AJW sekigun roster goes to train with a loving Karate master on the beach
Jungle Jack splits rocks with their bare hands and jogs through the city streets while rock music plays in the background
Bull berates Bat for throwing kicks like a pussy to the point of making her cry
And the rookies get literally stretched to hell, spreading their legs as wide as possible while 3 creepy old men hop on their back and force their faces into the dirt. The screams are pretty chilling actually.
Then it all ends with Debbie Malenko & others meditating on a loving windy hill in the grass

Yup

Also, the 1991 tryout sessions! Man, look how many girls showed up for that and realize that'll probably never happen again since this was about the height of AJW's popularity.

Tsukushi vs. Tsukasa Fujimoto - IW19 Title

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5cMc8jPDZ0

It's a fun, if kind of sloppy, little match although it's about the best you'll get considering Tsukushi's a 13-year-old girl with about a year of experience. Fujimoto heels it up in that she seems to get a kick out of beating up a kid and Emi Sakura completely loses her poo poo on commentary when Tsukushi manages a successful dragon suplex; also Gentaro is one of the other commentators.

Anyway, a little background I guess. 19 Pro is a sub-brand of Ice Ribbon that exclusively airs their shows live on ustream a few times a week at 7 PM JST (hence the name); they usually keep each show up for a short time after it airs as well although they're not archived.

Anyway this was the finals of a small four person tournament to crown the innagural Internet Wrestling 19 champion. This was 19 Pro's first show back after the earthquake so all four participants (Tsukushi, Fujimoto, Mika Iida and Mochi Miyagi) were from areas most affected by it.

The title has a couple rules as well: all matches will have a 19 minute time limit and in case of a draw the champ retains, the champion can choose who they want the challenger to be and when/where the match will take place and any match for the title will be streamed on 19 Pro's official ustream channel. Tsukushi chose Emi Sakura as her first challenger and the match is going to be taking place Sunday at 2 PM JST or about 1 AM EST. So if you feel like watching something at one in the morning on a sunday, well here you go.

Sadly since it's a TV airing it's clipped (I think about 8 minutes or so are chopped off) but still.

And since I'm not up on my OZ Academy storylines I kind of lack context although from what I figure (going by the opening pacakge), the story is it looks like Jungle Jack 21 beat the champs' team so Nakagawa demands a title match and pulls the old "I'm staying in this ring until I get what I want" deal.

Man, I've spent various times last night/today going to youtube to watch old Beauty Pair/Jackie Sato/pre-Jaguar era AJW stuff and I've come to three conclusions.

1.) It sucks that this stuff is both hard as hell to find and apparently only exists in low quality (video quality, sound skipping, etc) VHS form.
2.) It's nowhere near as technically sound as anything that came post-Jaguar but it's fun as hell.
3.) Mami Kumano is AWESOME at heeling it up and being crazy and trying to murder everyone so here is some Mami Kumano completely ruling.

Also fair warning, like I said the quality is crap (hello synch issues) and also they're pretty clipped (basically any time there's a crowd or announcer shot, it's a clip).

Mami Kumano vs. Tomi Aoyama, 1979
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxaXXHLvX3I
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN19HDhw0Lw

Mami tries to kill her with: scissors (I think), a chair, fruit (!!!) and just plain strangulation. Aoyama busts out Shelton Benjamin-style leaping at one point and also a giant swing that would make Claudio proud.

Beauty Pair vs. Monster Ripper and Mami Kumano, 19??
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wMFBFZcqPX4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxsJaEoLK8c

Basically school girls screaming for their heroes, Ripper and Mami being awesome and killing refs and pretty girls. Also, sound synch issues out the rear end (at LEAST a good 4 or 5 seconds behind what happens). Put the year as unknown because while the description says 1978 that can't be right because Rhonda Sing didn't debut until 1979.
