Found another place I won't be going back to in Manhattan: Manhattan Color Labs.

2 rolls, color, 36 exposures.

Scans and negatives: $29.

back when I didn't know what the gently caress I was doing, I had Swan Photo labs process my black and white 120 photos and make prints, expecting that it would be like when my mom and dad paid $8.99 for prints and processing from the drug store

total cost for push processing and printing two rolls: $65

now I only use them for color and scan poo poo myself. without anything extra, it's actually priced pretty reasonably

Apparently being half-jewish does too. My grandmom has a membership and we've got the second card or whatever.

Any SF-based goons need to get to the Harvey Milk Photo Center on 50 Scott Street now. They're doing a garage sale; they're selling a ton of old 35mm P&S cameras and darkroom equipment for $1 a pound. I'll post this to a couple other relevant threads too.

Edit:

Don't come today, they just closed on me. They said they'll be back on Tuesday, and they think it'll take a while for this stuff to sell.

I grabbed some 35mm P&Ss and a tank and six reels (two 120 and four 35mm), a weirdass Mavica video camera (gotta find floppies), and an old Kodak 110 camera with film in it for $4.

35mm camera inventory from that sale:

  • Sears M35 Programmed (no idea what this is a rebadge of)
  • Pentax PC35AF
  • Olympus Trip AF 50 (bought earlier in the day for $5 at Goodwill; shutter counter doesn't work, so I rewound my $6.50 roll of HP5+ when it started making weird noises)

Are these any good?

I bought and found a few 35mm point and shoots before discovering that I like having control over what my camera is doing. Maybe I'll sell them to goons

My brother just found me a Pentax UC-1 at the Salvation Army for $10. Now I don't have to shove my L35AF in my pocket :toot:

Anyone used one of these? The Pentax ESPIO Mini is the same thing, apparently.

Speaking of Stylus Epics, I think I just won the used camera game.

Taken with my laptop's webcam. Not only was it $5, there was a sale, so I ended up getting it for $3.50.

That and the broken Vivitar Wide and Slim were the only two good cameras in there. Sorry!

e: issues I've found with the camera that sorta add to the charm - it makes an annoying high pitched whine when it's under exposed (I think that's what the light means)

The high pitched whine is your flash charging. The light means that the flash is charging and not ready yet.

the best part about the minox 35 gt is when you discover that despite it going "click" each time it only actually exposed two photos out of 36, and one of them was blurry
