My boss is putting out an open bet at work that Jon Jones will put Chael Sonnen away in the first round. If Jones finishes Sonnen, he gets 100 bucks. If Sonnen survives the first, we would get 50. So far, I'm the only one to seriously consider this. Is this a good bet? I can't think of why it wouldn't be, aside from the whole "don't win money from your boss" thing

has rory fought anyone with as much reach and height as wonderboy? he beat diaz, but condit beat him and saffiedine/lawler had success in the feet. i wouldn't be surprised to see him look for takedowns early to counteract Thompson's spinning poo poo, he seems like the type of fighter to take advantage and not get confused by it. the US has weird reasons that come up against sports betting too. to the point someone made earlier about the lottery, that's right for some states. tennessee in particular has a pretty generous in-state scholarship funded by the lottery that they want to keep not-funded by income or sales tax. and a lot of states, especially where the NCAA is the primary sport, have a lot of people concerned about the players getting paid or corrupted to lose games if there was a lot more money on it due to legalization. the NCAA shaving scandal the guys that goodfellas did in the 60s/70s/70s caused a lot of concern about that
