Though she's probably do her own thing rather than see a genre show haha. I've dragged her to enough.

I'm in the minority but I loved Anthology 2 and Spotify pulled it.

So that explains why you're not on Spotify I guess.

I basically go to Spotify like 95% of the time, lately bandcamp a little more for smaller stuff. I'm not buying/subscribing to anything else. I listened to the new album on bandcamp, which is fine, but I like to create playlists and poo poo. Music is in such a weird spot right now. There needs to be a way for popular but still niche artists to make a living outside of touring constantly.

Perturbator is fun and tacky, but his latest album is seriously good with a tinge of industrial feel.

I was going to complain that Pertubator isn't industrial and then I listened to this album.

Then I remembered the industrial moniker is meaningless and has been for awhile.

They were ok. I might have teared up but no one saw me.

So what does everyone think of the Radioaktivists album? I've been anticipating this release ever since hearing 'Pieces of Me' on one of the Dependence compilations.

It's alright.

Thanks everyone, I will get to the recommendations sooner than later.

Just happen to be listening to No Sleep Demon (2.0) at the moment, because I want to put a track on a mix for someone...

But it reminds me how awesome Spinath's vocals were there. It's like the subtlest of differences.

And sidenote, I still can't get over how much I hate the song about a plane crashing into a circus and wiping out the clowns ... it basically ruined the album for me. I just don't get it at all and I find it infinitely distracting. I was loving obsessed with the band, and that one lyric just weirded me out too much.

Eh, I agree No Sleep Demon and some of the Edge of Dawn stuff was peak Spinath but Radioaktivists has grown on me the past couple of weeks.

It's in my daily playlist right now which means I'll be sick of it by Friday.

I think he just found his voice after a while and pretty much hasn't deviated from it for the past 10 or so years. The earlier stuff was better because it was slightly more 'raw'.

Edit - The track you're putting on the mix is Avalost, isn't it.

cEvin Key's new solo album Resonance dropped. Ka-Spel and IAMX guest on some tracks, along with Miami Bass King/Papaya Channeler Otto Von Shcirach. It's good stuff if you're into Key's flavor of slightly dancey electronica with a dose of weird. I was holding out for my vinyl copy to show up before giving it a listen, but thanks to COVID and the drama around the original album title I caved and am listening on Spotify.

Key has been fairly active during the pandemic. Not sure what's going on with the other half of Puppy. Hopefully that dude is OK as well.

I can't believe how hard it is to find concert history, especially if it didn't make it to setlist.fm. There's almost no evidence of the show I saw online, except thankfully for my own sanity I took photos. In 2011 I saw one show with FLA, Conjure One, mind.in.a.box and Cyanotic. I think Acucrack was there too, and there's one other band I don't recognise. It's breaking my brain that googling these names, as well with Mod Club and Toronto is not bringing up any events.

Yeah, that is absolutely the same tour I saw, 2011. I wasn't sure if mind.in.a.box was there or not. If you have photos post them!

Edit - I thought mind.in.a.box wasn't great. Shows how much I know.

Also, this was my third time seeing FLA - the first was in maybe 1993-ish for the TNI tour. That first show was amazing.

Also also it made me feel old seeing middle-aged folks in Skinny Puppy, Front242, etc shirts. Then I realized I'm that person and we got icecream after the show.
