CAT rear end now!!! posted:So would you guys say Delerium is worth looking into? Where should I start? I don't think I've ever heard anything from that project. I personally adore really early Delerium like Faces, Forms and Illusions and Morphues. It starts out really dark and ambient, all of being gorgeous soundscapes. In later years it goes really poppy which is really not my thing at all. I say start at the beginning. Speaking of FLA, they just announced their European tour dates. No UK date. Slovakia but no UK? It's always the Tiesto mix though. And yeah it's really loving weird, I found a Delerium album in my mums CD collection once.

A friend of mine went to pick up a band from the airport today for DV8Fest. "I dunno, I've never heard of them." He says, "They're called, urm, Grendel."

He's really good friends with the person who organises DV8 and picked them up as a favour. It's funny though because he's usually got his hands in the scene in places, best friends with the Music-Non Stop people too, for instance. Which is why I did a when he hadn't heard of Grendel. Made me for a while for sure.

They're not super great but they are very popular. IMO the best part of Harsh Generation, by a huge margin, is the remixes on the 2nd CD. My favourite song of theirs overall is the b-side on the Soilbleed EP, One Eight Zero.

F-117 is amazing though. I have a love-hate relationship with Funker Vogt as musicians. I used to absolutely adore them but the past like, 4 albums or something, I keep having to ask myself if it's all just a big joke. How can a band stagnate so badly? It's all the same.

Danger - Octopus! posted:I've seen it. oh god. That song is really popular at one of the clubs I go to. I saw a band a few years ago who basically looked like that video, but chubbier and on stage in front of me. Can't remember who they were, but they were a really poor Suicide Commando-wannabe act from Spain, I think. I'm reasonably sure the singer was rocking a futuristic targeting-monocle-eyepatch thing. Are you sure you're not talking about Uberbyte? (I loving despise Uberbyte)

The difference is that Laibach aren't so much doing it ironically as they are doing it politically to make a point. Plus they pull it off really well.

I'm a big Funker Vogt fan but haven't listened to them for a long time. Everytime they release an album I excitedly buy it and then question if the whole thing is one big joke. Like they're trying to break the record for most songs written based on the same song. Survivor is their best CD IMO, with Thanks For Nothing bringing up the rear. It's worth getting Always And Forever too. With those three you've heard every song.

Just found out about this bonus track on the deluxe edition of Improvised Electronic Device and what the gently caress, it's actually really good and could pass for classic FLA? What happened with the rest of the CD if they were still capable of this? Some people think Duke Nukem Forever is the biggest disappointment in 10 years, for me it was IED. [edit] Even the lyrics are horrible in the best FLA way possible. Come back to me my sweet long lost FLA. Babby Sathanas fucked around with this message at 03:22 on Oct 13, 2011 |
