I spotted a train from what i understand is somewhat special. I'll try to post the whole thing in as few pictures as possible.jamal posted:Guess I'll break up all the train crash news with pictures of this big rear end bridge: To bring it full circle, if this is the lethbridge viaduct, the architect killed himeself before the first train ran over it because he believed the bridge would fail. It has since been in service for over 100 years.

I bought a truck that was owned by a train company, they left a loading manual in it. The fact that those are listed and illustrated on their manual kind of suggests at some point somebody has done it, and that scares me.

Hey, uh, you guys haven't seen a 47 car train sitting around somewhere, have you? http://www.cbc.ca/radio/thisisthat/...ssing-1.3224670 If you see it, you should call CN (it's a joke, but wouldn't be out of the ordinary)

I saw this truck getting his train on. Was pulling a lot more cars at a higher rate of speed than I would have thought a non-locomotive would have. Spraying what i would assume is herbicide. I've never seen a truck pull rail cars like that. I guess horsepower is horsepower.

Not only that, anybody who's even semi-interested in trains knows this stuff happens all the time. It just finally happened in a populated area with a dangerous cargo. The train isn't even the notable part of it it's like how the Ever Given was all over everything for a month even though there are hundreds of shipwrecks a year. to people with no interest it's a shocking failure. To people who have even a passing interest, it's an inevitability. Powershift fucked around with this message at 20:12 on Feb 10, 2023 |

There was an auction at a concrete yard here last year, and they had a whole quonset with a huge train set-up. They had some locomotives that went for over $1k, i couldn't believe it. https://www.bidspotter.com/en-us/auction-catalogues/bscmo/catalogue-id-bscmo10125/search-filter?categoryCode=RCE

ExplodingSims posted:I can believe it, especially if it's one of the higher end models. A lot of the big stuff, or the really high end stuff gets insanily e pensive real fast. Apparently that bottom one, which is actually butane/steam powered, had a $4,300 MSRP. what even is money

An old documentary about the end of steam locomotives in Canada. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qg9_TnwrCXw It's funny seeing the old men wanting to stick with the steam locomotives.
