I have a single friend who works for a Class II, and from him and everything else I gather, Precision Railroading is college-boy for cutting costs to the bone in order to absolutely maximize short term profit margins whilst absolutely destroying long term company health and customer relationships.

Am I out of line in my estimation?

Sucks, but the railroads have been raking it in hand over fist for a couple years now while telling their employees to get bent when they ask for a reasonable work/life balance.
